I enjoyed the show apart from Plato and his "ooh you fighter" catch phrase. I love the format of the show and the car vs entertainment bias is just right. It had me checking the classifieds for good X1/9's as the memories of my old school mates red one came flooding back. I was so jealous of him at the time biggrin Saldy, good ones that haven't rusted away are hard to come by.

That 911 turbo looks rediculously fast, almost unuseable on public roads without losing your license within 10 minutes. The GTR, as impressive as it is, still looks wrong. I couldn't live with the looks.

The 1st episode of 5th Gear team test gets an overall score of 35 out of 40 for me.

Not one person on the planet considering a GTR is going to think "oh, maybe I should get a Noble instead".
Yeah...how can I break this to you...?

I don't think the program was made for those 10 to 15 people. hehe

When I'm on a track day in my TVR I'm thinking..."can I catch that Scooby WRX STI upfront?"

Completely different cars but I, and most others, like to make the out-of-class comparisons.

A JCW Mini is not comparable to 370z but it was fun to watch. I had a 350z and the wife has a Cooper S so it was almost like watching the upgrades of those 2 go head-to-head.

Here, have a beer you miserable fker hehebeer

Bah ! Nonsense. I'm always the contrarian, miserable git in the corner. I wished the show had used the chance with the cars to say something more interesting about them.

I would also sell a kidney to have an M600 and would rather have had a separate article about that car alone.

I will drink your beer and grumble miserably as I do so. wink

Surprised we don't get more comments on this.

I enjoyed part of this week. Skipped all Vicky's piece as she is annoying and a Paris Dakar MINI is about as much a MINI as a Rolls Phantom is. What has a 3/4 million pound vehicle with a MINI shell on it got to do with anything?

In my day, proper range Rovers crossed the Darian Gap. I just don't get it.

Anyway, the Racelogic box test was OK for the driving if not the content and the Kia Pro C'eed GT got a cracking score even up against the Megane RS.

The Lambo Aventador round Welsh roads against the GT86 was also refreshingly relevant.

So with Vicki FF'd, it was a good half hour's entertainment.

As my sky+ for FG was deleted mysteriously and I can't easily find a repeat, I'll have to take your word for it.
I'll keep looking though....

EFA.

(There was waaaay to much about that Mini, which looked comically huge when she was stood next to it.)

I did the same. The only one that I could find at that price level was being sold by that 'Target Cars BV' lot...

p.s. Last weeks episode..

How the feck did the Noble go so much faster round the corner than both the 911 turbo and the GTR? That was a huge surprise to me.

It's a much lower car with a lower C of g. Both the others are practically 4x4s in comparison.

I believe both these cars are the same underneath. It's purely a cosmetic thing. Makes me want a jacked up 3.0TDI X3 though. And that's a bit worrying laugh

I do love watching the Dakar. So I was interested in the car. If only it was Johnny doing the driving and spannering. Would have been faster too

Like the Lambo too. Looked a bit wide though on Welsh roads.

Yes the mini is the bmw x3 with a different shell infact that is the only mini bit left.

Another good episode kia looked good and was good to see against the Megane love it when plato rings the neck out of a hot hatch like he does.

Mini bit was a bit boring but not to bad.

Lambo piece was really good stunning roads (used them myself lucky being only half hour from it enough fun in my mx5).

I enjoying this much more than top gear atm a car programme with cars unlike top gear that cocks around with old jokes that stopped being funny 5 years ago.

Bloody hell - hadn't appreciated quite how low the M600 was...

Not readily available on catch up I don't think, but it's often repeated on the normal channel at strange hours. Try the search function on the Sky box.
