I have to say, those two Sheriffs are very good at what they do. Above and beyond the call of duty it would seem - top blokes!

I can't really see what that guys elderly parents are doing with a flat they rent out, and has a mortgage on it?

They aren't really benefiting from it, in fact, it's a burden to them now!

These landlords must be mad renting to such people - or is it that they see 'housing benefit' and think they're guaranteed rent forever.

Very sad when there are children involved but dozens of letters must have been sent out before it gets to eviction stage.

Out of interest, and genuine question: why should he be a special case? Compared to (say) some bloke who'd worked as a miner, then as a truck driver and then Burger King, and who'd then fallen on equally tough times?
The army vet admitted that he had maxed out on his credit cards,He was however up to date with his rent/mortgage payments. He must have had a lot of time off work due to his medical conditions and used his credit cards to buy things,A shame what happened to him but, never a good idea to use credit cards if you are struggling financially.
Easily done if you can convice yourself it is a short term problem and the money you are spending is part of the solution.

This programme is far more sensitive than I expected and Steve seems a top bloke.

It's an interesting show.

I am curious if these guys are typical though because they don't look thuggish enough. It's some incentive to do something though when you don't get paid unless you get a result.

HCEO is a different type of job description to a normal debt collector/bailiff.

Bailiffs have a reputation of using threats, intimidation and exploitation, which, on the whole, HCEOs don't need to resort to.

The debate after this will just be like a PH thread, descending into shouting and argument.

I don't get how Chris managed to find £4k yet hadn't been paying their rent. Very strange.

A contrast to the HCEOs on the BBC's 'The Sheriffs Are Coming'. They all seem to be overweight and bald and look like people you would not want to mess with.

Wow anyone else watching this 'debate'? Who's the presenter - he seems like a parody of a naff daytime presenter, and there is that idiot from the apprentice - aka 'dumb posh bird'.

Ah yes. It's basically a TV version of the daily mail.
