I agree with you that there must be thousands of other people from other ethnicities who cheat. I have had endless arguments with my daughter about what constitutes racism and what is simply stating a fact. No doubt this TV programme deliberately focuses on things which will incense people like myself. I'm a core viewer.

I am not a racist. I have simply recognised that this programme has had numerous cases of people like this, and they seem to always pick ethnic minorities as the examples. I have no idea whether this is deliberate or whether it's because it's more common amongst these minorities.

Sorry for any offence.

I'm not sure you are being racist, there has always been issues with these people and "fraud" of some description, some countries/cultures are linked to certain types of crime.

I'm not sure you are being racist, there has always been issues with these people and "fraud" of some description, some countries/cultures are linked to certain types of crime.

I worked in police IT for years and did a fair number of courses on criminality and Crime Pattern Analysis. A wise old copper explained to me that generally, most officers are not racist as per the stereotype, he went on to explain that if you work in certain specialisms or specific areas then you end up arresting a lot of people from the same groups.

All people are able to be criminal, but culture varies, if robbing stuff is what you are brought up with then that is normal and generally, people who steal do so because they arent that high up the economic hierarchy.

The copper broke it down as,

Black lads, mainly street robbery, he pointed at the board in the Ops Room behind us which was their mugs gallery for street robbers in that division, all but about five were young black males, a couple of white faces and one Asian guy, he said can you see why we dont target middle aged Chinese ladies over street robbery ?

Asian folk, if they were arrested it was mainly due to cheque, card or other financial wrong doings, mobile phone cloning was big then as well, if you arget that kind of crime then you deal with people of that background, it isnt being racist, if they were not doing the crime, they dont get arrested.

White folk were right across all crime types apparently, mainly down to sheer numbers, and there is always crossover but the knowledge gets passed between members of the same group, its a really interesting area.

We used to do maps of the areas around Manchester and you could do it over time and crime type, you could pick an individuals previous MO's and you could see a gap when they were inside as you steeped through the dates, then withing three days of being released, crimes of the same MO popped up again, officers attended his home address and found him with stolen goods from the addresses that had been burgled.


White middle class folk get a bit up themselves about criminal types, but you dont tend to be in that world, it isnt on your radar and by and large you arent scratching round to buy food, criminality isnt genetic, its cultural and a lot of time out of necessity, with a lot of greed thrown in.

Linda was a greedy tt by the looks of it, glad she got collared and that publican, what a scumbag.

I thought I was misunderstanding at first until they showed all the Cartier jewellery and Rolex watches. Think there's more to it than benefits cheats!

Yeah, some money passing through that house beyond what benefits will pay for, even if you are a bit crafty/devious with them, hope the local plod pay her a visit and ask some searching questions.
