Can it be any more cack than the recent films?
Yes, as the movies were good.
They may have been good but they were not Star Trek. Generic (IMO boring rubbish) films made for the lowest common denominator who doesn't like to think too hard.

When you watch it NOW it is well dated and some of the stories were iffy to say the least but as a kid when it appeared on our screens it was ahead of it's time compared to Dr Who... IMO
Absolutely, 100% correct. I loved the original Star Trek, and it was far superior to anythine else about at the time. Sure it looks wooden and incredibly corny now but that is what ageing does............

It may be because I grew up with it, but anybody else enjoy TNG and not massively keen on any other Star Trek?
TNG still is the only Star Trek series I can watch, and have watched for the entire series.

I have just watched one of the episode's. I cannot unwatch what has been watched. Horrific.

I'd say that Grant Imahara shouldn't give up his day job, but he's not on Mythbuster's anymore....
