Tom Kerridge is a lovely bloke, isn't he? I thought he was superb with them tonight, and from the contestants' reaction when they saw him, it seems clear that he has a good reputation in the context of Masterchef.

Imagine what their demeanours would have been if they'd been presented with Marcus Waring instead.yikes
yes

Top bloke.

Exactly the right way to bring out the best in all the contestants. Sending someone to help chopping when the time was running out was great. Other chefs would have left them to struggle then blown a gasket when the dish was a few minutes late.

Agreed a lot of man love for Tom here seems such an honest bloke.

In my opinion I think its going to be Ping or Jack but probably more Ping.

Jack is very good though, he has hardly put a foot wrong. Ok so Chicken and Tarragon isn't a wildly adventurous flavouring, but Ping presented a kind of any week night meat rice and veg kind of meal not resturant food.

Very tough competition this year, I'd be happy with any of them winning it, Luke has got some very good touches to his cooking.

Jack is a shoe in for a good job after this, 21 - loads of potential.

Dropping Eddie Izzard was the right call. It's difficult to see anyone other than Ping taking the crown, but then they've made leftfield selections in previous finals, so who knows.

I think they all go through to the final tomorrow night. Mind, I would not put money on it. smile

Jack just keeps producing amazing food, Ping might be in for a tough challenge.

I think he'll take it, he's going from strength to strength. Luke can't win and I don't rate Ping as highly as I did when she first "emerged", as it were.

I think Jack for the win?

His lamb dish last night looked fantastic.

Luke is very (very) good when he is on form, but after the tapas last night and a couple of other 'slips' he can let himself down (which is a shame).

Not sure about Ping.

Overall, this series has been one of the best.

Grand final tonight, any predictions?

Jack seems to be going from strength to strength. Luke seems a little flaky, that deconstructed moussaka was poor. Ping seems to have fallen behind a little but you know her oriental menu tonight will be great.

I'm thinking Jack for the win.

TBH I'm a little bored with Ping, she's a bit of a one trick pony (but she cooks it, and presents it very well), Luke needs to pull something magic out of the bag. Jack seems to have talent in abundance, my guess he will win. Been a little disappointed with it this year.

Jack to win for me, quite level headed and doesn't seem to get flustered.

Didn't realise it was the actual final tonight, my moneys on Jack I think ultimately he's more marketable

Yup! Will know in an hour whom will take the title - think Jack might take it but, am hoping Ping will pip him to the title.

ETA: Having said that, what's the betting the mad scientist will come storming through to take it. biggrin
