Just watched the deleted scenes from this series. Steve Coogan's Saddam Hussein is brilliant. Don't know why it wasn't included in the series.

There are a fair amount of youtube deleted scenes if you search though. The Trevor Eve one is hilarious. Who'd have thought 5 minutes of saying exactly the same thing over and over could be so funny! laugh

Does anyone know when/if this is coming out on Blu Ray? It was filmed so well, seems a shame to have to watch it on DVD.

By the way, anyone who really likes 'Trip'/'Trip to Italy' might want to investigate 'A Cock and Bull Story', by the same director, with Steve/Rob etc. You'll even see a few other familiar faces. It's not quite the same (and gets a bit wearing after an hour or so...) but there are definitely parallels and similarities.

Thread revival I know...

I've been watching the DVD of this today... anyone else seen the TV series and the DVD?
I'm sure I'm not going mad, but there are lots of scenes cut from the TV series, and a few scenes I have no recollection of being in the original series....

For example there is none of Robs "guess the bill", and there is a scene which makes it clear that Rob did sleep with girl from the boat. I'm sure in the series it was a bit "did he, didn't he"?

Am I misremembering, or is the DVD really quite different to the original series?

There are a few scenes missing on the DVD from the TV series. In one scene Rob does an Alan Bennett impression as they are driving into Rome and it is not on the DVD version.

Thread resurrection time.

There was an interview with Rob Bryson in The Times over the weekend and he confirmed that there will be a new series of The Trip in 2017. They're off to Spain this time.

I can't tell you how happy this made me!

I think it's on Atlantic this time, which is a shame.

Yep, just checked and it is Sky Atlantic. Not a problem for me as I have Sky but it's a shame that another bit of quality programming has been lost by the BBC.

Probably also means that the new series won't end up on Netflix like the previous ones have.
