The original Coen Brothers' film is one of my favourite films (if not my most favourite), so I'm really looking forward to the new series. Not so sure about Martin Freeman, but I'll definitely be setting the series link.

Anyone else disproportionately excited about this?

Excited and apprehensive in equal measure.

Fargo the film is brilliant. I hope the series is half as good.

But I doubt it.

Great film....been a long time since I last saw it though. First film I saw Ste Buscemi in, and my general introduction to the Coen Brothers. smile

This premieres here tonight on FX. It looks very good, some are already comparing it to True Detective (similar format, one season to a conclusion and following seasons will have a new cast and story). Looking forward to it, always enjoy Billy Bob and the storyline sounds good. Unlike TD it's on basic cable so unfortunately there will probably be no nudity or salty language.

Ok, it's nothing like True Detective. First episode was pretty good, I'd describe it as (very)black humour. Freeman is pretty good, authentic Minnesota accent etc.. Billy Bob is Billy Bob. Looking forward to the next one.

Loving this so far, loved the film though. Slightly less insane than the film but brilliantly cast and acted.

Both Freeman and Billy Bob are excellent.

Nicely crafted too!

Looks good so far. Great series opener. I'd have preferred it if Martin Freeman hadn't been Lester Nygaard, but only because I know he's not American so I'm constantly subconsciously listening for "slips" in his American accent... Oh yaaaaaa. I'm sure another episode or two and I'll buy into him more.

And Allison Tollman/Molly Solverson... cloud9

Very good. Not watched the film though, does it matter? Should I dig that out?

I enjoyed that too, in the other thread when it was announced I thought it was a bad idea, grumble grumble, but I reserve the right to think its great when I see it. I've seen it, it's great.

Martin Freeman's accent was pretty good.
Billy Bob's character, messing with people's heads, was very good, phoning up the older kid and stuff hehe
