The film 'based on a true story' thing really fooled people back then (back then he says!), before the web so so ubiquitous where the facts could be disseminated over a latte.

I remember reading an Empire magazine article where the people from the town involved were amused by people asking about the 'events.'

I think I'm going to stop watching this. Despite the whole of it being quite good, I just HATE Martin Freeman.

Funnily enough, so do I. But he is good enough in this to make you forget it's him.

For someone who has never watched the movie, would you suggest waiting until the series finishes, or is the series so loosely based on the movie it wont matter much?
DEF wait, it'll screw your head up.
Really? I watched the movie a few weeks back and now loving all of the Easter Eggs throughout the series.

And as for Episode 6, holy cow!

Does bodycount count if it's voices inside a building with mirrored glass? hehe

Now caught up, including tonight's episode.

Still enjoying it, but the Dulluth cop, her dad (an ex cop), the TV she had in her hospital room and you've got to presume access to her mobile - and she didn't know that Lester's brother had been charged with the 2 murders?

Bull crap!

I suppose they didn't officially announce it to the media, it wouldn't be national news either and she was in Duluth not Bemidji so not likely to be on the local news even if they had announced it.

Another quality episode.

I though I recognised the FBI dudes; They're a TV double act called Key & Peele. E.g.:

Just watched Sunday's episode. This just gets better and better, really love the show. The missus can't stand it, says it's far too slow, but she just doesn't understand it!

The way Lester is getting more and more devious and comfortable with his twistedness is brilliant, a real credit to Martin Freeman's acting IMO.

Just love it.
