Also enjoying. Not quite S1 yet, but a nice slow burn.
It's certainly better than most of the crap on the box. Novel method of execution last night - must be nice and warm under that lot.

tempted to look up the story but think i'll wait until the series have finished.

Quite fun this series. I doubt anything in those areas happens fast so the pace seems fitting.

I'm really enjoying the style and pace and so far I think I prefer it to the first series

Bruce Campbell as Reagan threw me a bit having just been watching Ash vs. Evil Dead.

The Reagan portrayal was great - lots of fancy oration, but he didn't have a clue what he was talking about. Lived in a cocoon of his screen characters.

Does anyone know how many episodes there are in this series? We're only up to #5, and things are moving along really quickly - I wasn't expecting such a high body count at this stage. At this rate, there'll be nobody left for the final denouement.

We're halfway through, 5 more to go.

Love the Mike Milligan character, softly spoken menace. The new but different Malvo.

Have to rewatch the gun battle as thought both Kitchen brothers bought the farm. Obviously wrong.

And what's with all that stuff in the Blomquist basement?

Punched/elbowed one, then cut the throat of the other. But he should have finished the job, sloppy work.

Right, thanks, sloppy work, Reacher would have crushed his skull. hehe

The Gerhardts seem to have an endless supply of goons to be used as cannon fodder. None of the family were present at the gun battle, apart from the Native American who stayed in the background. It's a bit like an Austin Powers spoof - dozens of henchmen who appear from nowhere.

Still good entertainment though. Pity Billy-Bob couldn't be in it.

Just like the real Reagan, he thought he was living in a film. Campbell nailed the mannerisms.

They run the state, they couldn't do that with a dozen men. Seems fine to me.

One of the twins had to stay alive to deliver the 'message.'

I thought the actor playing Reagan looked familiar - had no idea it was Bruce Campbell until seeing this thread!

And I've watched the Evil Dead films countless times!

In Season 1 Maggie's dad (this seasons protagonist) described the events in Fargo as an absolute bloodbath. I expect this isn't even the start of it!

I heard him do a short impression of Reagan on the radio before the season started, so I was looking forward to his appearance. Of course he used to be in Burn Notice with Jeffrey Donovan (Dodd Gerhardt) too.

I thought it was events in Sioux Falls that were a bloodbath? That's where Peggy's Lifespring conference is...

Apologies you are spot on. Sioux Falls (Just East of Luverne, where the Peggy lives) was the location of the massacres.

WRT the stuff in the Blomquist basement, I think Mrs Blomquist may be a kleptomaniac.

She stole all the TP from the salon but the boss ignored it, even after her romantic advances were spurned.
