He's got somewhere at least, That's one little thread that's grating with me. Cannot quite understand why Lou and Hank let him run off up the road and not catching him up in the car? Given the events, especially Hank's stand off and knock on the head I thought they'd be keen to revisit the butcher's house pretty swiftly?
So I've learned to shut up and trust the writers, no loose ends. This keeps getting better.Don Veloci said:

Amused by Hanzee's reaction to Dodd in the cabin though. From season 1 we know the Sioux Falls massacre is coming up, how many are left?

"Lost, native American Chieftan, answers to the name of Hanzee. Long dark hair, slight far away look in his eyes. If you see this man please ring Hank and Lou on Luverne 676545."Ps, they did spell Chieftain wrong in the newspaper
Or maybe the cabin was still in Minnesota? Luverne is close to the Minnesota & South Dakota border. The Border is half way between Luverne and Sioux Falls which is only a short 30mins away, so they are only 15 mins from the border.

I took that to mean they knew he would go home. Which he did but then they, Ed and Peggy, cleared off to the cabin.

They didn't expect him to go off to the cabin, 'cos they didn't know what had happened at his home at that point. The bit that grated with me is that the shopkeeper who recognised Hanzee presumably rang the police, presumably South Dakota State police , yet it's Lou and Hank who roll up to the cabin, again presumably out of jurisdiction.

Lou's a state trooper. OK, Minnnesota state, but state trooper nonetheless. Sioux Falls is only just across the border, so it's possible/likely that the gas station is in MN and the paper is a MN paper - particularly since most of the action has been in MN so far. (and Ed's not going to waste money on a long distance call when he can do it from in state, is he?).

Another thing that cracked me up, it's not just that she stabbed him, it's the way she did it. Brilliant
Yes.It reminded me the stab scene from The Emerald Forest (and I think one from GoT), it was just deliberate, without aggression and slow...creepy!
Dod is right, the Butcher has woman trouble.

I'm going to be gutted when this series ends in two episodes time.
Not been this hooked on anything since Breaking bad but i think this is better
Didn't see the Hanzee execution of Dodd Gerhardt coming at all .
Stabbin in the Cabin Kirsten Dunst as Peggy is truly wonderful in this fabulous programe

Yup, it's got to be relevant, but what to
I assume everyone got that it read 'Sioux Falls', has any of the action taken place there yet, or is it just building up to the final show down there? It is also where Peggy was heading for her retreat.
I think it will be where everyone dies and the hangman game is finished via the last incorrect answer!
I presume the symbols are Native American in origin?

Yeah but it was Clay County News, and Clay County is in SD, south of Sioux Falls. Incidentally there's also a Clay County in MN right next door to Fargo, but that's a fair way away.
Ed was making the phone calls from the Rushmore Grocery Store. Rushmore, Minnesota is 23 miles east of Luverne so they were probably at the Lakes at Worthington, further east. Not sure if this has been posted but as the season reaches nearer to the end and the much trailed massacre at Sioux Falls the reporter here shadowed Noah Hawley for two days. Noah asked and got a no spoilers agreement as far as the linked piece is concerned, please be beware on page 2 of the article, there's a link to an interview explaining that UFO thing which includes a massive spoiler about tonight's episode 9. You are duly warned
