She sees them all the time and Unicorns frolicking in the glade with the King of the Pixies.
hehe

That episode was different to what I was expecting. In a good way.

I was expecting a 3 way shootout between the police, the Gerhard's and Milligan with the brother. The way it played out worked though.

I wasn't expecting what Hanzee did.

Doing a mental bodycount, trying to work out who's left from that...

Lou Solverson, and an injured, out of action Hank.
Hanzee
Mike Milligan and the brother
Ed and Peggy
Aliens hehe

I was expecting Double M to turn up late and it all be sorted, loved that bit.
'Alight then.' hehe

The UFO, interesting. Love how US shows do this sort of stuff, I'm glad they stopped when they did.

I think the ufo was referencing what was reported at the time, the same reason Reagan was in the show. There was a burst of 'sightings' around that area in the late 70's I think....

Whatever the reason it is still the best thing on t.v at the moment!

Or, what the fk does gang warfare have to do with aliens? There's still an episode to go, so we may not actually know what this season is about yet.

Hmmm....the episode did start differently didn't it...as a history, with the hobbit from series 1 narrating, but not actually knowing the exact events, just what was in the account...what with all the Hanzai stuff....hmmmm....

Let's not forget that nobody seemed to complain about "ttting aliens" being the indirect reason why Rye Gerhardt was stood gob smacked in the middle of the road and not paying attention to Peggy in her "Unsafe at any Speed" Corvair barrelling down on him in episode 1. OK he did have a few other things on his mind admittedly.

This is a true story hehe

I think there's a difference between just having 'strange lights in the sky' as in the earlier episodes to having a full on spaceship hovering above the action.

Did anyone do a Freeze Frame and read the words in the story book? I noticed the pictures showed the fate of Simone.

As for who's left from the Gerhardt Crew: Hanzee (everyone who knows about his double crossing is dead), the dim witted Grandson and the henchman with yellow lensed glasses).

We had been forewarned in the series about the UFO connection, but I still haven't "got" why the writers did it. Can't see that it was necessary. Maybe they were trying to get into the 70s atmosphere for creativity purposes, and had taken some £sd. The quasi-documentary voiceover was all a bit contrived, almost as if the writers realised they had created an irrational storyline, and thought that "nobody knows to this day" would get them out of the sticky situation, rather like "with one bound Jack was free".

So I was a bit let down last night, but still look forward to the writers redeeming themselves (hopefully) in the finale. So - who's left? Lou, Ed and Peggy, Hanzee, Milligan and "Goomba" Kitchen. Not much of a shoot-out, unless the Gerhardts can find more from their seemingly inexhaustable supply of henchmen (does the barn contain a factory making them?).

Is Lou's missus dead?

I think the UFO stuff is just the writers playing with us. They know the amount off over analyses that goes on nowadays and wanted to see the internet go a into a spin. I think this was also alluded to in the Martin Freeman narration piece about Hanzee and his motives.

The whole episode was set up differently being told like a story/myth, using Martin Freeman or Lester as narrator who's a huge liar/story teller

I think so - the lyrics of the song playing before she collapsed said "She's leaving tonight" frown Unless she was whisked off to hospital in the U'foo?

Yeah but it was Clay County News, and Clay County is in SD, south of Sioux Falls. Incidentally there's also a Clay County in MN right next door to Fargo, but that's a fair way away.
Ed was making the phone calls from the Rushmore Grocery Store. Rushmore, Minnesota is 23 miles east of Luverne so they were probably at the Lakes at Worthington, further east.

Call bullst on that. Last night's episode showed they were in South Dakota and a jurisdictional dispute followed. Did I write this?

I think that is closest to the mark. After ruminating for a bit, it is all rather brilliant.
And it deffo had an old film type effect, reminded me of those flicks like Close Encounters and ET, those sorts of things from the late 70s early 80s.

Have you been abducted and taken back 24 hours?
