Rising Sun - Wesley. Smiles and Sean Connery. I've tried to watch this twice and both times lost the sense of the film, It's possibly because I just didn't really like the film so lost interest rather than it being particularly complicated but it's the one I thought of when I saw this thread.

Dark City took 2 watches aswell but 2nd time round I really got it so enjoyed it a lot more.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy left me wondering what on earth it was all about by the end of the film.
One I need to watch again to see if it makes any sense.
I had the advantage of knowing the book inside out, so it's hard to watch the film and not fill in the gaps. Recently watching the original BBC series, it's not necessarily any clearer - it's two and a half times longer than the film but it's paced two and a half times slower!

I know it's not a film - but Game of Thrones is pretty complicated wink

Glad to see others have seen Primer - good film, and actually easy to follow on a second watch when you already know the "catch".

Agree with others who said Mullholland Drive. I've watched it a few times and have absolutely no idea what is going on.....

I love the original series so knew what it was about. Not sure I would have enjoyed it as much without it.
Series was much better too.

If we're talking complicated in terms of 'I have no idea what's going on' by the end of the film then definitely Mulholland Drive.

The fact it isn't very good doesn't help.
