For The Love of Cars

Auction for TV purposes I'm guessing? Nice the old boy got it back but that was always going to happen I reckon.
Presenters still make me cringe but it was better than last weeks dross.
Why not just accept that it could just have been a gesture for a man to do for his terminally ill son in law?Presenters still make me cringe but it was better than last weeks dross.
The door slam was ridiculous. As was parking two classics in mud and jumping in and out of them. The presenter, the one who slammed the door. Is he even into cars? He seems like he's constantly trying to get enthusiastic but failing. He didn't look well at all, when he was driving the two golfs he looked like he'd been on a 3 day binge.
Series 2 has been utter st, kind of wished I stayed watching the antiques roadshow much more entertainment value in that.
I think the problem is they've added a personal element very much like that rubbish TV auction show flog it. For me it just doesn't work. Also far too much emphasis on the trying to make some money from the car rather than the last series of recreating it "for the love of cars"

Just pondering over the Drew Pritchard appearance again, are all the cars in this series being sold at the same auction on the same day? Sorry if i'm being a bit thick here!
This Glenister bloke is a bit of an oddball I can't really work him out, but I don't think he knows whether he's supposed to be acting or not and seems to do a bit of both. When you hear him being interviewed he's quite well spoken, but then other times he seems to drift into his 'Life on Mars' character. I also winced at him yanking on the car door frame like some drunken yob, I didn't like how they belittled the beautifully restored base model either, I would be a bit pissed if I was either of the owners, especially with his lack of driving skills attempting a lap time on a wet, dark Armco surrounded go-kart track.
I think as car fans we want more than this series is delivering, It seems to be trying to appeal to a wider audience by being too general which is an age old argument of course.
Last weeks Rover episode was light on resto' content as there wasn't much to do, the owner had already done most of the metalwork so they had to stretch everything else out.

Given that the auctioneer seems to be sporting a black eye every week I would say there's every chance that they are indeed being sold at the same auction...This Glenister bloke is a bit of an oddball I can't really work him out, but I don't think he knows whether he's supposed to be acting or not and seems to do a bit of both. It's the same Coys auction, at the Autosport show at the NEC in January. The results are on the coys website, the cars are spread across the auction, to give them time to film the appropriate people for each car I assume.
Drew just happened to be in the crowd and the whole auction probably took no longer than a couple of hours.
This series everyone knew what was going on, but the first series was all done before it was on TV so no one actually knew what they were filming.
How different would the ending have been last night if someone had outbid the father in law...

He'd have been a lot better off (financially) just paying for the restoration, but that wouldn't have made for very good TV I guess....Drew just happened to be in the crowd and the whole auction probably took no longer than a couple of hours.

Unbelievably, he's being allegedly touted around within BBC circles as one of the candidates for TG presenter.
said this before, he might be a good actor, but he's dire as a presenter.Absolutely no charisma on camera, and does not even seen at all into cars.
BBC management will love him though, if they do try and use him to front TG, it will not only kill off TG, but likely his own career too...
