You can have a "duck clutch" fitted to a manual car which operates the clutch via a button on the gear knob.
Don't know if this was the case here though.
Very plausible.Don't know if this was the case here though.
I have a work colleague who whilst still has her legs, is wheelchair bound due to a serious back injury from a car accident 25 years ago.
She has no real use of her legs and can only "walk" for very sort distances using two crutches.
She drives a manual Honda CRV that has levers on the steering wheel so she can hand-operate the accelerator and brake... Absolutely no idea about gear changes. I must ask her when I am back in the office!

All those f***ing mums parking wherever got my goat. Learn to walk a bit, you're kids might actually survive a little exercise!
They were a bit precious. Life is hard don't you know, Tarquin and Tiffany should not witness real life in walking. Might catch stupid.Having worked outside a house or two over the years close to a school and witnessed the build up and then the calm after the storm, they are harridans of the first order and take no prisoners and would scare the bejesus out of Genghis and his mates. But I bet they are the first to complain on poshmums.net when they feel aggrieved by similar actions enacted on themselves.
It brings out the absolute worst in people. I hate it and can’t wait to move now it’s my house to sell!
Unsurprisingly, no notes were left in either incident.

Echo this, my parents live down the road from the local primary school. Absolute carnage twice a day, it certainly doesn't help that the majority of parents (women almost exclusively - yes sexist) can't park for st. I had my E30 cabrio parked there for a while, returned to find the right rear cluster smashed. My sister's Ka suffered a front end dent (given the height appearance very suggestive of a tow bar on a 4x4).
Unsurprisingly, no notes were left in either incident.
Both of my kids are at a primary school that is effectively next to a shopping centre, and as such there is a 250 space (free) car park within 20 yards of the school gates, and another rooftop cap park perhaps 2 mins walk from the school.Unsurprisingly, no notes were left in either incident.
Inevitably, the surface car park gets clogged and getting in and out of it can add a few minutes to the driver's days as there is only one entrance and one (separate) exit from the car park.
There are some days when the car park is total carnage!
There are some drivers who decide that the car park is too much of an issue, so chose to drive along the narrow road next to the school (despite the school advising parents not to) - where the parking carnage is worse because of the number of children walking down that narrow road.
I live about 2/3 mile away from the school, and on days when I do the school run, I walk the kids there (rain or shine), walk back home, and then drive to work as it is probably quicker than fighting my way out of the car park.
There are many other parents in that car park/road who could do similar (significant number of them live within the boundaries of the photo below - but chose not to and add to the chaos.
Map of school and car park below.
Shopping Centre dead centre of the photo - Car park to the right is the main car park, car park to the left is a rooftop car park (still free)
School bottom centre of the photo - with the narrow cul-de-sac road that some parents chose to use to drop their kids off runs across the photo, just above the school (Where the A flag is located)

I'm pretty sure the roofer guy would send in the bailiff's if one of his customers failed to pay his bill on time, so no point being a drama queen about it...just MTFU.
I'm just watching this now. I'm pretty sure, unless it doesn't apply to council appointed bailiffs, that they cannot take your vehicle if you use it as part of your job?TheAngryDog said:
Yet they were adamant that they would take his van.
Sure, he shouldve dealt with his fine, but this is why bailiffs are hated.
And how do they get away with charging such extortionate fees??
It is a bit of a piss-take that they can charge £75 for posting a letter- at least make them serve it for that cost!Sure, he shouldve dealt with his fine, but this is why bailiffs are hated.

The two guys from Whyte what ever, who were stopping people road side, they seemed to get far too excited over it. And on commission as well.
I dont know how regulated these companies are, but to me it sounds like its not enough!

The bailiff telling the disabled chap (without use of his legs) in a Motability car: "You seem to be able to afford to drive a nice car...?"
He seemed to be doing ok driving his manual Quasqai...Update.
It seems the BBC programme has resulted in the MPS getting cold feet about their questionable involvement with civil debt issues.

However a number of concerns have been raised about the MPS working with Civil Enforcement Officers (CEO) and this has been debated at a senior level. As a result, the involvement of CEOs at roadside operations has been suspended until the MPS can fully explore the issues.
This is very good. I only read the last two pages of the thread but it appears there are indeed an awful lot of legal questions to be answered and it's a serious big oopsie. I also hope the charges on top of the PCN are reviewed since they make up the bulk of what's being asked to pay.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
