It was a weird episode the other night. It was all sperm serious with the death of Beale's daughter, then this was interspersed with comedy gold as Phil Mitchell gives a stuffed toy CPR

Trying to lighten it up a bit I think, get back to the normal pace rather than make it the doom show for too long. One scene you've got Ian Beale being crushed as his foolishness sees him lose yet another child, this time in an old Fiesta headed for Plymouth, and in the next scene you've got Alfie Moon verbally jousting with the poison dwarf and trying to get her to wear an arm band.

I must admit, it came as a surprise to me when they killed Lucy off. And we only have to wait until February to find out who the killer is!
Apparently, the actress wanted to leave to take up another role.
Should have given the character a storyline where she went away, and comes back later with another actress playing her part?....
