TV series of the Hellblazer comics! Good to see they've not turned him into an American too, unlike the 2005 film version (which I still quite like nonetheless).

Don't think it's been picked up by any UK broadcasters yet, but there's always the Internet

I watched episode 1 last night.
Not impressed.
It's another 'Demon of the week' show, much how the program Supernatural started out and how most of these Fantasy/Horror type programs end up before you lose interest and give up.
The lead is a welsh guy playing an english bloke who says "mate" just one too many times as the yanks like to drive his britishness home to their audience. Sean Pertwee as Alfred (Young Batmans Butler) in Gotham is likewise uttering "mate" at just about every opportunity.
Anyway, the accent slips occasionally and you can then hear his valley tones.
The BIG issue is the script and the disaster that is the last 10 minutes.
I'll spoiler this:
The woman who was to be his assistant (Liv played by Lucy Griffiths) had such a poor caharcterisation written for her that the studio decided that after 1 episode she had to go and new character would be installed as a 'Robin' to Constantine's 'Batman' instead.
This is from the Daily Telegraph and kinda says it all:
I’m not familiar with Lucy Griffiths, who plays Liv Aberdine, the eyes and ears of the audience, the relatable figure the entire pilot revolves around, but unless she was being bribed to kill the show stone dead like an old-time boxer paid to take a fall, there’s no way she could have been worse in the part.
When the runaway ambulance invaded her workplace, she delivered the line “That’s my desk, I should have been sitting there” like she had mislaid the top of her pen.
Griffiths scarcely got more animated when a reanimated version of her dead neighbour popped up at the wheel of the ambulance or when she found out Furcifer, the demon who feeds on electricity, had marked her for death.
The person I knew who might have watched the pilot made it through to the end of the episode where Liv breathlessly unveiled a map filled with demonic possession hot spots and demanded of Constantine that the two of them go on a soul-saving spree, and then vowed never to watch Constantine again.
As it turns out, Constantine’s producers, who include Dark Knight trilogy screenwriter David S Goyer, were only too aware of what a limp noodle they had in Griffiths.
Lacking the budget required to scrap the entire first episode and start over, the official premiere of the series on NBC reveals that they came up with a cheeky solution.
But the way they dump her from the show is ridiculous!
Having been our point of view for the whole episode a detective turns up and says "oh Livs just left town and wont be coming back but she's left you this map".

Anyway, If you like these supernatural type shows you'll probably like this but its VERY formulaic and episode 1 brought nothing new to the table. My wife liked it though.
The film was far-far better IMHO.

A DEMON WITH A KILLER APPETITE IS UNLEASHED IN ATLANTA - JONJO O'NEILL GUEST STARS — When Constantine's (Matt Ryan) old friend Gary Lester (guest star Jonjo O'Neill) accidentally releases a powerful demon in Atlanta, John is forced to determine exactly what he is prepared to sacrifice in his battle with the underworld.

I'll give it a few more episodes but I fear the worst

It was Cancelled despite being popular. Seems it's first run figures were not good enough. However. the character and actor have re appeared on "Arrow", He's done the voice and character on The new DC Animated film and rumours are floating about as the CW team responsible for the DC Universe want him back. Whether this is to replace "the Vampire Dairies" or as a "Legend of tomorrow" it has yet to be seen.
