Bloody hell, it's grim again isn't it?

Last time 'round I gave up after 3 or 4 episodes because it was just unrelenting misery... 1 episode into series 2 and I'm thinking I'll just give up now...

I posted the first post at 2 minutes to 9 on Tuesday, no idea where the other two came from!

The bunny boiling make up counter assistant was Alan Partridge's girlfriend.

"Well Sonja, that was classic intercourse. So... thanks!"
biggrin
And boss in Scott and Bailey.

Geography a bit off as well, 'Wills o Nats' is up Meltham way not Slaithwaite way.

Love this but trying to piece some bit's together from the first series...

Was Tommy Lee's GF in the first series, can't remember? Or has she just materialised?

Nevisson, the business guy, it was his daughter who was kidnapped in the first series, yes? And she is now a PCO? And his wife is the one dead in hospital?

TLR's girlfriend is new to this series.
Yes to all the other questions.

Thanks. Should have re-watched the first series! My memory for thesis things is terrible these days, getting old! Can only follow a couple of TV things at once, Line Of Duty returning will fix me!

I have extra speakers and a subwoofer for the TV and I noticed it as well, yet when the title music came on it was far too loud.

I also thought about using subtitles but I am also not as young as I used to be either, really enjoyed it though and looking forward to the next one.
Same, the dynamic range was idiotic even with the DRC on the amp set to max, not helped by the mumbled dialogue either.

Enjoyed the programme though thumbup

Is Halifax really as grim and crimey (couldn't resist) as this? It makes Clay Cross look like Cannes.

Like many parts of West Yorkshire there's some grim parts and some beautiful parts.
A gritty drama about murder, gangs and general misery tends to focus on the grim up north bits.

Great television though biggrin

In a word yes.

But there is some stunning countryside within a fifteen minute drive away.

Re plot:-

Another good episode tonight, difficult to see how the D C Wadsworth can get out of this one, with DNA evidence, unless he burns the house down...I don't think anyone saw him going up the steps.

Interesting view.

If you meant the coincidences of all the events happening / unfolding between these linked characters I think I understand what you mean.

The fact that it's presented such that you can pause and see each character's perspective on their own sense of problems, I think excuses the car crash!

You would hope you wouldn't say it, but in the Cop Shop the PC that makes the inappropriate black humour comment about Ma'am - or the idiot sacked worker that at least has the balls to face his employer at the funeral: does boss man show the compassion his wife would or flip out - copper confronts bunny-boiler just getting more deeply uncomfortable whatever he does. They manage to give you an excellent bit of breathing space around each unfolding drama.

(In TV-land...) Overall it's no worse than all the murders in Oxford - hundreds of 'em. Or what about Shetland? That's full of people killing each other!

Is the school TA his girlfriend, or his mother? I only ask because of her age and her question to young lad about his other grandma.

I think this was a better episode than the first - that copper murderfying his floozy is proper mental - but he'll no doubt disguise it as the serial killer chappy.

Sound levels were better too.
