Neil will be asked questions about Vicky I think and will be in a bit of bother.

.
If plod checked Vickys phone they would see loads of calls to guilty plod (cant recall name) - this is a terrible faux pas from the writer.
Unless he used another mobile payg as people often do when having affairs. Or so I'm told.
Which is plausible, but it is already been in the show that Vicky had HIS number on her phone, confirmed by his superior asking him why she had it.

It's possible that contact after that was made through a second phone.

Caught up last night , Bloody brilliant. Really didn't see the end scene coming.

There has to be another twist coming, Neil could well be the ripper but who know's eh .

Will be sorry to see this excellent series comes to an end .

The final scene with the Mum and son, the conversation they had and what she did to him reminded me of the end of Of Mice & Men.
That's exactly what went thru my mind.

Great minds think alike (or fools rarely differ).

I'm pretty sure they'll be enough unanswered questions to warrant season 3

Didn't pan out the way I thought it would.
Thought the big finish would be with the psycho school teacher doing something extreme and not centered on the murdering copper, so that was a good twist.
And Tommy got the lads letter to keep him wound up for the next series plus of course moaning mertle is still at liberty.
Not as good as series 1 but not bad.

Nature or nurture? Should have shut that road under the viaduct though.

Very good indeed. thumbup

By Series 6, little Ryan will be a bigger nutter than his Dad.

Did we find out who murdered Tommy Lee's Mum?

I am a fan but the chief speaking to his daughter and guessing the whole Vicky murder in great detail was just lazy writing, the road under the very low bridge would have been closed immediately however it wouldn't have helped in fact probably would have hurt more? the impact on the car from that height was stupid, it probably wouldn't have smashed the screen.
The prison mail arriving unopened - yeah that happens!
Mother killing son before properly establishing the facts and in a tv heartbeat - yeah that happens as well.
The writer is innovative and better than most but series 2 got lazy I feel and series 3 will that be on autopilot?

Yes, the kid with beans on his face and a hole in the back of his head.

The prison mail had already been opened when given to TLR, look again. Mother killed son because she loved and hated him, because he was conceived after she was raped by her own dad. So when he confessed to raping and mutilating those women, she killed him. Perfectly plausible. And hence the parallels between Catherine and Ryan, love/hate.

What sort of prison term would someone get in those circumstances?

Strong mitigating circumstances in my book.

Hmm.. murder - with a firearm - of a vulnerable person, to prevent him being held accountable for his crimes?
Not sure the 'act of mercy' mitigation would apply at all. Presumably some credit for a guilty plea though.

Having learnt about his manipulation of Frances, the prison had stopped Tommy Lee Royce’s visits but was, implausibly, still not opening his post.

The letter from Ryan was open before Tommy got it.
Watch again.
