Lol, a few funny lines leading up to that bit. Cawood "You beat the st out of me and put me in hospital for 4 weeks"
TLR "Yeah but you battered me on that narrow boat!"
I forget exact lines but that raised a smile.

Didn’t expect to feel any sympathy for TLR, but actually he went from being a complete lunatic to a damaged individual who the type of upbringing that he could not cope with normal emotions.
Hence his off the wall behaviour and topping himself when he could no longer avoid seeing his past and future.
Yep, brilliant acting/writing - made you feel sorry for a psychopath. Hence his off the wall behaviour and topping himself when he could no longer avoid seeing his past and future.

We felt exactly the same way. Disappointed it's finished. Have enjoyed all three series.

Sally Wainwright does have a way of constantly blindsiding you though. Things rarely turned out the way you thought they were going to turn out. The old guy in the safe house was just an old guy in a house, for instance.

Brilliant acting again, but felt they wrapped everything else up far too quickly. Seemed a bit rushed and could have done with another episode, or two
Feel a bit disappointed if I'm honest
Superb acting, every single one of them.Feel a bit disappointed if I'm honest
I was left underwhelmed though. The TLR stuff was brilliant but OTT. Yes I know it is a drama and only TV but surely she would never have entered that house with three violent horrific murders nearby and TLR is known to be local and on the run. Him standing in the street covered in blood in a community like that wouldn't last 5 mins before being spotted!
Would have liked to seen Ryans reaction.
Would have liked to seen the Pharmacist questioned and his reaction and his families being arrested for murder.
Would have liked Ann Gallagher to have been seen once TLR was dead.
I enjoyed it but wanted more! Maybe they will do one more series in a few years.....with the characters matured, Ryan a copper. Who knows! Plenty to go on with new plots and villains!
Couldn't fault it really, thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
Crime stories quite often end with the confessional and talky bit between cop & crim just before the end, I wonder if it happens like that in real life.
The only things I find unrealistic are people dousing themselves with petrol in various films, dramas etc.
Pouring that over their head would see anyone shrink back, spit, dribble and not be able to open their eyes.
On top of that if they lit anything there would be a loud WUMPH as the fumes immediately caught fire, there would none of this waving a match around 'will I won't I?' business.

The finale was fantastic with the scene in the kitchen being standout.
I know we needed the stand off, but it was a bit overlong and too much effing from the cop. Happy that she survived and made up with her family, I think we almost got a smile at the end.
BTW, what was the motive to free TLR from jail if they were going to bump him off anyway ?

Nice touch from a legal perspective was that she pressed her emergency button in order to get an open mike over all radio traffic and record what was being said. Obvs also doubled up as calling for assistance.
At the same time, TLR was making a "dying declaration" about the gangster's crimes.
Clever move to get his evidence on tape and admissible as evidence in court as an exception to the hearsay rule.

When Catherine had noticed the cellar window had been broken, it was fairly obvious Tommy might have done it, so rather than foolishly enter the house she should have called for armed back up with ten Uzi equipped Feds covering the house front and back.
I actually started to feel sorry for Tommy when he made his little speech, I thought they were going to kiss and make up.
