Who is the actress who plays Ashley's wife?
Rachel Leskovac
That's her, played Nick Tildsley's crazy girlfriend Natasha in Corrie.

Ah, that explains why I couldn't see anyone on the cast list, she's not his wife, she's playing Julie Mulligan not Mrs Cowgill

The pace slowed down aa bit as the story concentrated on the aftermath, but still good.

Would have thought that SL's face would have shown some residue damage from size 10's in the fizzog, not a mark on her, although it did jump forward an uspecified amount of time i think.

Agreed, she would have had a scar on her left cheek at least. Three weeks was mentioned.

I am looking forward to tonight's episode*.

A shame it is the *last one as I think this could have run for a few more weeks.

'You can now pre-order the DVD of Happy Valley, series one....'

Sounds promising?

Sarah Lancashire - if she doesn't win or isn't even nominated for a Bafta then something's amiss.
Brilliant acting.

My thoughts exactly, heard in a tv interview by someone else taking about this, that her Bafta had already been engraved. The beeb really do excellent drama when they put their mind to it.

Wow! I just watched the last episode and what a series! I'm not normally one to actually make the effort to watch something when it's on (normally catch up) but that was first class!

.... I realise I'm sounding a bit points of view now but can we have another series please??

I'm not biased that's it been filmed on my doorstep by the way, although spotting where it's been filmed is all good fun smile

I recorded episode 1 and finally got around to watching it last Sunday, and promptly sat though episodes 2-5 on the same day!

Where was it filmed btw?

Did anybody else shout out YES!! when Catherine gave Tommy a good old kicking?

Very satisfying way for the writer to arrange for him to get his come-uppance: Catherine got to inflict some proper violence on him - and then he still has to face the law!thumbup

Excellent stuff. Most riveting bit of TV drama in a long while.

West Yorkshire, mostly Sowerby Bridge I think but parts of Halifax, Huddersfield and Hebden Bridge were used too.

An excellent series, well filmed, well acted, tense, humorous (in the early episodes) and quite brutal in places. Not sure how they'll match that in series 2 but let's hope they try!

Good ending (I thought they would nick her for GBH).

And better than Broadchurch, too IMHO.

Hope they can summon up another series at the same level, same cast (except Tommy!).

The best six hours of drama I have watched for many years, and as posted above, I thought Happy Valley was better than Broadchurch (and Broadchurch was very (very) good).

One of my neighbours said:

"They may as well put Sarah Lancashire's name on the BAFTA".

Not sure if this will happen but who knows?
