Local politician I think
Ironic that the only other thing I recall seeing him in, he was a senior cop on The Bill

True but it was used as a way of showing the corruption in the higher ranks.

And it was thrown back at her following her illegal entry into the house where they'd first taken Anna. She was happy for her boss to ignore the rules then, as he pointed out when she ranted about him being let off. Very cleverly done.

I expect the local politician might feature in the next series. Bound to get his comeuppance.

I'd agree and expect the storyline about the ex-hubby investigating the drugs trade to return, too, but possibly not in a nice way...

It was very good. One of the best things on UK TV lately. The acting was universally superb, and Tommy Lee was one of the best baddies (Billy Bob Thornton excluded!)for ages.

I rented this from Love Film, and we watched the first 5 episodes last night - wanted to watch the last, but it was past 1 in the morning! Looking forward to watching that final episode tonight, great series!

I missed this first time round, so with series 2 a week away I thought I'd check out series 1. I watched the whole lot last night, simply couldn't turn it off.

Roll on Tuesday - 9PM please.

I'm tempted not to watch but to series link on the Sky box, and then watch the lot back to back. Last one was so good it was a nightmare waiting for the next episode.

I watched the last one back to back!
Without doubt, the best ever television drama I have ever watched.
