The Aceca from the same series was done before the Classic Motor Show at the NEC last year.

So all those faults in the MOT are Fuzz's fault (notes air suspension, so clearly after work was done by Car SOS).

Quite a few basic errors there, not surprised a headlight is out the way they rebuilt those wings hanging in free air - there's probably not enough adjustment on the actual lights to compensate!

But it was a straight pass straight after being completed...

Looking at the MOT history it's been tested every year but not covered much miles.

Oh and it was tested today having failed yesterday! Strange that the son used the ruse that it had gone to have an engine oil leak fixed and that's seemingly the only thing that they didn't look at.
<snip>
I'm surprised i'm the first to point out that is what you get when you have to restore a car in approx 3 weeks.
I do wonder how long they last....

The Range Rover was done at the end of 2015, wasn't it? They kept talking about getting it back to her in time for Christmas, but not this one just because of how long it takes to go from filming to Discovery / Nat Geo first showing, then get to More4.
The truck they used to pick it up with was 65 plate, so yes it would be.

They don't take three weeks as stated. See pregnancy, and other cars in the background. Wish they'd drop the "urgency".

I do watch it amd mostly enjoy but I HATE the fake "well we will have to burn the midnight oil to finish this bare chassis to concours in 35 minutes... And the clowning bits with Tim. Does spoil it, but I wonder if the fact that it irritates me, gives me something to moan about...

Why does he wear knee length socks with short jeans, like plus fours?!

Best car ever on a resto show. The underside was stunning. Gorgeous, as new. Wow.

Did anyone notice the flashing yellow warning light on the M1? Was it as innocuous as a low fuel warning light?
Great restoration of the 2002 thumbup

Friend of mine was at one of the 'reveals' in the late summer at a local car show. What's odd is that apparently they had 2 cars there and seemingly chose one to film. Which begs the question about what happens to the family/friends/ owner of the car not rolled out? Do they get bused home and have to act surprised etc at a later reveal? All very strange!

I noticed that too. Of course, when you search for it, stupid Google prioritises the new 1-Series stuff, but after some faffing (E26 is the key, apparently) this image seems to suggest the only yellow light is low fuel: http://rtrsports.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/...

2002 engine sounded terrible again when they started it, I think I'd have backed off a bit rather than revving it higher and higher, same as they did with the MX5 a few weeks ago. Might just be the acoustics in the garage I guess.

I suddenly feel a lot better about the quality of my own welding after I saw Fuzz's demonstration of making and fitting that last patch panel, where they showed the welds before he ground them down. It was only a split second but half of them looked like they hadn't penetrated at all.

End result looked good, though

I love/hate watching this programme, IMHO the cars they do always turn out first class, but the emotion for the people who own the car always moves me.

Some of Tim's antics are a bit daft but hey they need to break the programme up a bit.

I also saw one of their mechanic's in a wheelchair, hope he's ok and was nice they included him.

Having seen this the first time round I recalled it as being a good one. Watching it again confirmed my original opinion. Great work. I just hope it doesn't sit outside in the front garden for another 10 years. It should be kept in a garage.
