Watching one of these on a Triumph Hearald, they are giving out the specs and then go on to tell me it does something Kilometers per hour and are also talking kilometers in general distances.
Sorry but we are in fking ENGLAND where we have MILES AN HOUR and speed signs in Miles per hour.
What the Hell is all this Kilometer st? The sooner we are finally out of bloody Europe the better!

Watching this tonight. 40 mins in and there's been 3 ad breaks!
You need one of those new fangled recording machines. Someone asked me the other day if i'd seen the new JL advert, I had to go to Youtube to watch it. 3 hrs worth of commercial TV includes 45mins of ads.The only downside I find is that I can't join in the conversation until a few days afterwards when i've got round to watching it!
I class SOS as mildly entertaining and they seem to be pushing them out as often as Eastenders so have a bit of a backlog to catch up on....
I've started doing that as much as I can, only trouble is that while CSOS was recording, there wasn't really anything else on to watch.
Not a bad episode, though the play-acting filler was worse than usual this time - the section where Tim visits the hotel and roams around trying to "evade" security and so on was excruciating, and I just wanted someone to push him down the stairs at that point. And he conned his trimming mate into repairing the foam under the original black dashboard, but when the reveal turns up it's suddenly red. New dash, or did they re-colour it at the same time? And why "pearl" white? I didn't think the Saints car (which of course they were emulating) was pearlescent, just plain white.
I know, I know, the entertainment part pays for the interesting part. It just seems that the proportions are a bit wrong.

I just gloss over the time-related stuff as being just for the cameras. They managed to strip, clean and rebuild all the suspension as well. I did wonder why they'd tacked the front wings in place without knocking out the dent near the drivers door, especially if as Fuzz said they were tacking in place to get the alignment correct.
I didn't have time at the NEC to go to the stand and have a decent look around these cars. The paint (on the TV) looks great, and I wonder if they're really as nice close up.
Singer Le Mans next week.

think its just a name like diamond white and so on?and yeah i wish they'd can the silly acting and just show fixing the cars and maybe a walk around any specialists etc
CAR SOS is an interesting programme but aspects are genuinely for the uninitiated with regards to restoration time frames. They have improved the depth of quality and increased the budget on the project cars in this series but are still pretending to adhere to the 'three week turnaround' format of the show.
The daughter of the man who owned the P1800 turned up to the NEC 6 months pregnant when she was no months pregnant '3 weeks' before.. Either that or she was camped in a pie shop for 21 days..
...during the build, the 240z was in the background during some shots in bits.
I can do without the segments that feature Tim Shaw. The beauty of On-demand being I can fast forward that bellend.

I have noticed this in the past, I was watching an older episode the other day that had the quattro in the background, I think they must work on 2 or 3 projects at a time.If they are taking around say 6mths to do the car, does anybody else think that the owner knows what is happening, not going to take him long to notice his car is missing for that length of time.
Did anybody else notice that in the background on the stand that the Volvo was on, were cars from wheeler dealers
I think they must do multiple builds - I hadn't noticed it in this, but I did used to notice it in the other deadline-fest that was "American Hotrod". Boyd would agree to do (well, get his shouty people to do) six months work in three weeks, no excuses, no lateness, but then the car they did in the previous episode was in the background. Good call on the pregnancy, I didn't notice that at the time, perhaps she's doing a Grand Designs build as well.
I could do without the Tim bits, but some of the places he goes are quite interesting so if we could get someone less annoying (or him, being less annoying) to still go to the same places and cut out the play-acting, that would be great.

Last night wasn't so bad, though there was an interesting contrast between how Fuzz dealt with his engine chap to get the block fixed, and how Tim dealt with the various people he was trying to get a deal out of. Steering wheel man was funny - "Has this been one of the best days of your life?" - "No, not really."
Spotted the P1800 on the ramp in the background when they wheeled the Singer into the workshop. I wonder if they're doing either of those 3-series at some point, they've been there for a few episodes now.

I think it was the (P1800?) episode I was watching last night where they quoted a 0-96kph acceleration time. If it's 0-60, just say so; don't try metrication by stealth! Sorry but we are in fking ENGLAND where we have MILES AN HOUR and speed signs in Miles per hour.

Saw the thread and was going to post my feelings about Tim Shaw but it seems you've got it covered.
What a sheath.
Remember him at David Manners Jaguar, asked the guy infront of him if he was queuing up and the answer was yes. So Shaw just pushed in anyway. If that had been me, I'd have stood my ground, cameras or no cameras.
And his cringeworthy lies haggling there in another episode were pathetic.
Keep Fuzz (who does all the work anyway) and get that mug Shaw off the telly.
What a sheath.

You do realise it's not real situations, it's all set up! But I agree the running Tim 'joke' is very weak and tired, they need to find a better way to liven it up.What a sheath.
