Wasn't a terrible episode, except for Tim "storming out" when he found out it was to be built to factory spec with no mods. Segment at the turbo rebuilders was OK (apart from the whole "you've saved the entire car" bit, and I think they know it given how he built it up for the family visit), but the segment at the wheel refurbishers was nonsense.

Enjoyed the Renault 5 ep, even though as a hard-core Golf GTI nut in my youth I did refer to the poor bloke with failing kidneys a 'see you next tuesday' about 5 times - just for old times sake.

I only record this show now and watch it that way. Conveniently, my youview box has a fast forward button that skips one minute at a time

And it gets used whenever it cuts away to any of Tims segments

By the time you skip the adverts and the TS grot, i find there's only about 15 minutes of viewable content

Yes, I do the same and there's not a lot left when the filler is gone. Much like that Mercedes, in fact.

Had a proper cry at that, sadly was waiting for it over the father given how sick he looked at the end, but then the kicker that the daughter passed also.

Very sad episode.

Whoa, that was emotional, I knew the dad was very poorly and not expected to live much longer but she seemed so well so it was a shock to see they had both passed, so sad for the mum, such a nice family and glad they got to see it done even if it was fleeting.

People slag Tim Shaw off but I like him and he is so lovely with people where Fuzz is better with cars, as a a show it just works.

It’s a great show plus Tim and Fuzz appear to have a lot of chemistry/built over years of working together

Blimey that was sad to watch.

Thought Tim & Fuzz handled that episode really well. Best programme on tv by a mile.

I love Tim too! Can't believe people can't see past the dickish behaviour, the program works because they are both great in different ways.

Dunno why I'm not on the same schedule / programmes as you guys.... must check my Freesat recording planner!

Only caught up on the mk1 Capri last night, that the Capri legend Ric Wood was fully involved with
220bhp vs 148bhp in 1974!
Fanstastic quality build, except the "Car SOS timbo" etched calipers and the rocker covers....

If you only have Freesat, you won't be seeing the latest episodes, broadcast on National Geographic which is only on subscription services

That was a very sad episode. For both the daughter and father to pass away must have been dreadful for the mother. It was sensitively handled by Tim and Fuzz though. They did a superb job with the Lotus and it was great that the daughter got to drive it again and the father could see it back to what it once was.

I've missed the last two for various reasons, so can't comment on last nights. But I agree with you both here. Tim Shaw is the light entertainment of the show, you almost expect the horseplay now with the trimmers etc and it breaks it all up. Especially when it comes to episodes like last night and the episode with the Lancia Integrale where the poor girl's dad died before they had the car finished.

Even the wife doesn't mind watching it, and she'd walk out the door when Wheeler Dealers would come on.
