Just got back from this, took wife and 15 year old daughter. We loved it, what a great film. Colin Firth was excellent and the kids who plays Eggsy has a great future ahead of him.

Baffled as to why this is popular, thought it was the most spectacularly awful film I've seen in years.

Not trying to be a troll just didn't get the attraction.
Couldn't agree more. A complete mess of a film.

very good film, tongue in cheek and mad as a box of frogs

Great film-went to see it with my girlfriend and we both loved it.

It was riotous and sped along at a breathless pace, and also:
I loved the fight scene in the church, I can't remember one that took my breath away like that did.

it was things like the people that appeared when the glasses were first used, presumably other 'kingsmen', never referred to afterwards or came to help.

When the girl had to shoot down the satellite, why not do that remotely, all she did was push a button?

The princess at the end, she's been locked in a cell along with the other prisoners, no idea what's going on, that chav opens the shutter to tell her that he's going to save the world to which she replies that if he does then he can use her tradesmen entrance (not that she would have known about SlJ's full plan). He walks back 10 minutes later to declare that he's done this and she dutifully presents, how would she know that any of these events had taken place given she's been locked up in a cell, why would she want to stay in said cell to have sex? What about everyone else that was also locked up?

Those that failed the training had the amnesia zap so that the Kingsman remains a secret yet that lad was there at the end clearly remembering the full thing.

There were endless bits introduced that were never followed up on, just dropped.

The AWFUL CGI, particularly when they all exploded at the end?

Colin Firth, aware that the lad's mother is being bullied, does nothing and prevents intervention.

The weird zooming camera on the jerky CGI fight scenes that tied your eyes in knots.

Sam Jackson with his intermittent lisp.

Being told to shoot the dog, was a bit too Isaac / Abraham for me.

The car that changes up gear whilst driving backwards.

Splitting hairs but the idea that being given a free simmcard to get free internet/calls wouldn't automatically get mass saturation as everyone with a phone or ISP would be tied to a contract which they'd have to cancel before the free service would be usable, trying to cancel Sky or Virgin takes months.

The whole film was muddled and confused about what it was doing, was too busy trying to zip about and distract it just lost itself in the noise.

I'm sure folk much have watched a different film to have enjoyed it.

All of which is correct and I'm sure there were many more things, but I don't think it's a film to be taken that seriously. I enjoyed it because of it's cartoon like slap-stick violence and humour, not due to any credibility as a high-brow spy thriller.

Spaceballs didn't make much sense either, but it was fun! Think you are over-thinking the film a bit too much.

Exactly, it was a "brain out" take everything with a pinch of salt action film, that took the Mickey out of similar "serious" action films. wink

Just realised this is what they were filming down the road from me(they were in Deepcut) last year. Think I'll have to see it
I've only seen the trailer - I wonder where they got the Rapier FSC launcher from? Only the RA have operational ones these days.

Don't recall so many clumsy plot holes and inconsistencies in Spaceballs though.

Never understood the 'leave your brain at home' justification for going to see a film.

I paid £10 to watch it because my brain wanted entertaining. Doesn't mean it has to be highbrow, but it's essential for a 'funny' film to actually be funny, have gags in it, memorable lines, those things. This had none of those.

Never mind, I think I was probably just too old for that sort of thing, only went because it was my 19 year old son's turn to pick the film, he seemed to enjoy it.

I watched it with my 17 year old son, we both enjoyed it, there was a lot of laughter from the audience during quite a few scenes, so we weren't the only ones to enjoy it. wink

Went tonight to watch it. Seen a few trailers, had open mind and expectations.
So glad I'm single and not one of the soul destroyed looking guys getting dragged into 50 shades by their misseseses.

fking loved it. From the opening scene with the awesome Dire Straits rift to the finale.
Non stop action, humour, wtf's, gadgets, fights, hot chicks, guns, general tongue in cheek awesomeness, and some big ass stars just entertaining me and seeming to be having a jolly good time doing so.

Realistic? No.
Full of holes? Yes.

Did I care? Did I bks. Top film. woohoo

Then when you do acquire an OH make sure it is one that doesn't want to go and see tosh like 50 sheds. HTH wink

Given a choice of watching 50 sheds or Kingsmen? Kingsmen every time. yes

If you want a film that is a bit spicy and in a similar vein to 50 sheds though, try Secretary. Odd but good.

My wife and I went and loved every second of it. Yes it is full of plot holes but this wasn't an arthouse movie for deep thinking. It was a sit down with a huge tub of popcorn and a can, kick back and have laugh movie. I don't feel it was anything else or meant to be anything else.

as for the young actor who played Eggsy, Taron Eggerton, he was also in another recent film A Testament To Youth where he played a very upper class character. Very versatile and we will see more of him.

Went to see this at the new 4DX screen.

First 4DX. It has moving seats like a simulator, smoke effects, water spray, bubble machines, smells, and wind. It was good in places. When the guns were being shot you got puffs of air behind your head and when helicopters or planes flew over you got wind effects. When SLJ vomits at the end you get sprayed with water. The moving seats was good in places but got a bit annoying during the fights. You got the effect of being kicked in the back and first couple of times I thought it was the person behind me kicking my chair. During the trailer for Jurrasic World they had the effects on for that and I think that would be a really good film to watch in 4DX.

Anyway the film. I thought it was superb. Sure not the "best" film made, but for pure entertainment I thought it was great. Even my wife enjoyed it and she rarely watches the TV or films at all.
