The official PH Coronation Street thread
Discussion
One of the hallmarks of Corrie scriptwriting is the ability of the writing team to match one-liners to the personality of each character. There were some crackers last night.
Eileen - "I feel like the old woman who lived in a shoe."
Eva (ditzy blonde and fashion victim) - "Can you imagine living in a shoe? That'd be ama-a-a-zing."
Craig - "Doesn't take a genius to work out what you're thinking about."
Kirk (dumb and dumber) - "What I'm thinking about is the crash."
Eva - "Frittata is French for omelette." Bless.
BTW I only noticed for the first time last night, but the small display cabinet in the entrance hall of the Chesney/Kirk home is an old kitchen cutlery drawer turned on its side. In a fashionista style glossy magazine this would be called ironic shabby chic, but I suspect it was more a result of make do and mend.

Well Tony hasn't got much self control has he?..
He's playing with fire with that one, that's for sure......
Barlow's Buys seems to be shut more than it is open these days.....
You would though. Wouldn't you? He's playing with fire with that one, that's for sure......

Anyway, I'm too old for all that malarky.....
Unless it was Eva of course..........

Agreed on both counts. You wouldn't need ear muffs with Eva. Tracy is plain scary - you'd be in the throes of passion (from my distant memory,,,) and still be wondering if you were going to get an ice pick in your head. Too much baggage there.

Katie Redford would have been better!!!
Strange how she has now decided she never wanted to be in Corrie in the first place, when a few weeks ago she said "It was a dream come true"....http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/katie-redford-d...

Catherine Tyldesley had stayed in the show for far too long prior to the "happy day". The production crew have had to resort to all sorts of shenanigans to cover up the bulge. Friday's episodes were ridiculous - in reality nobody could have ignored that bump unless they thought she had a bad case of wind.Meanwhile, is there a soap character anywhere more slimy than Todd? He seems to gain nothing from his machinations other than the satisfaction of bu**ering other people about. Evil little sod.

Kosher Corrie humour last night. Roy and the Labour of Hercules cleaning out 30 years' of crap from the Augean Stables, and then Norris telling customers he had a large pile of chits out the back to clear up.
You don't get references to Greek mythology in Hollyoaks. I hope Roy keeps the woodie - I had one like that in Almond Green, a real hoot to drive in modern traffic. They handle surprisingly well, and mine would cruise at 70 on the A1M quite happily. Used to overtake modern stuff quite a lot, much to their surprise.

I doubt whether it will make many future appearances...I don't think Roy has passed his test has he?..but I could be wrong on that. You don't get references to Greek mythology in Hollyoaks. I noticed last night the Woodie was covered in a layer of dust, whereas usually it is spotless, at least Kevin has given it a new MOT...
Good that "Kevin" has slipped back into life on the cobbles, almost as if he has never been away..."Ken" too...
What do you think of "Maddie"? I must admit I didn't like her at first, but I am warming to her now...she has a lovely smile...
Meanwhile "Norris" is continuing to get up everyone's nose as usual, what a great character he is, every street needs a Norris...
It's "Madd-eh", like Soph-eh and Ros-eh. In Kevinspeak, that is.
I think the character has developed well. She's supposed to be a young woman who's had a rough start in life, but now she is grateful for people who care about her, and give her life stability. The actress has done that well. She's a "heart of gold" type character. Sorry that I'm prone to think in stereotypes, but they really don't look like lesbians to me.
I'm getting a bit bored by the Steve depression story.
