The official PH Coronation Street thread
Discussion
Some good lines last night.
"Methinks the mechanic doth protest too much."
"What ? They had mechanics in Shakespeare's day?"
Sally re the possibility of prison life -" You have to do all sorts to get a decent roll of toilet paper". I'd buy the DvD , Sal, no sweat.
PS The corner shop has grown in size, but also, so it appears, has Peter Barlow's flat since the Armstrong/Windass clan moved in. It looks bigger to me.

I can't help but love Corrie for it's humour and in jokes - It sets it apart from Eastenders by a long way which is dire, depressing and seems to love dragging out stories to the Nth degree.
The drug dealer story is, however, getting on my nerves....
Me too. But I fear that it won't be over until Kylie (or rather the actress) returns from having her baby. We'll have to put up with it. I'm rather hoping that David will eventually outwit him in some way, resulting in his imprisonment. Not that I like the David character, but anything's better than a drug dealer. The drug dealer story is, however, getting on my nerves....
Meanwhile, is anyone else baffled by the scripting of the Owen/Linda confrontations? The whole story seems over-dramatised - he chucked her out, and she wasn't allowed to see the kids. OK that's a bit harsh, but all the tears, and astonishment shown by his daughters is way over the top. It's not as if he tried to murder her. Over-reaction, I reckon, and not true to life.

What is troubling me is why Linda has never portrayed Jackie Kennedy . She is the spitting image .And Owen- the only man met who cannot conduct any conversation on any subject without shouting and growling.
The actor played in a Midsomer episode and WASN'T the murderer. I was surprised coppice said:
Indeed- that's why a full stop separates the Linda bit from a continuation of the Owen discussion. Now I'm going to mention somebody else - poor old Deirdre. How much longer will she live in soapland than real life ?
What about a reasonable explanation as to why Fiz didn't help spread Roy's ashes?Deaths and pregnancies are often handled with either comedy or "lets just pretend they don't exist"...

Maybe I'm in a minority of one, but I quite like the Callum character, he adds a certain amount of "menace" like Jez Quigley (Lee Boardman)did.....
Having said that Callum is like Andy Pandy compared to Jez.....
I was going to suggest that Callum's demise should be like Jez Quigley's (better get Jim out of the clink then).Having said that Callum is like Andy Pandy compared to Jez.....
O/t, but Lee Boardman was the reason I stopped watching Road Wars all those years ago as I couldn't stomach that weapons-grade bend's pseudo-comedic narration
I was rather expecting a backlash from the prune content in Sean's meal. Eileen of course remarked that it was a good job she'd cleaned the bathroom.
I was quite touched by David's little chat with Max. Well written and well acted.
I was wondering what the storyline was going to be in respect of "Eva" leaving to have her sprog. No doubt she'll be off to visit a sick relative, now that she's split up with Jason. Boy that Todd is one little sh*t (unlike Sean's boyfriend, who'll be having a massive one.)

Eva will say she cannot stay here any longer and go and visit someone giving up her job and home in a flash, sheesh anyone would think this was made up.DSLiverpool said:

Unlike the perm exits where it's "I've decided there's nothing here for me, so I'm leaving for <far-away city/country/etc>" ... "When?" ... "First thing in the morning!". Taxi arrives, gets in, drives off. Just like real life

I think as was noted earlier in the thread he's badly cast for the part, he's so camp I'm just wondering what will happen if Todd or Sean spots him, Cillas son also, lovely lad, but really well spoken which makes him sound out of place.Having said that Callum is like Andy Pandy compared to Jez.....
I missed a couple of episodes, what happened to Monkeyfaces Bistro? Is it a new one, just a re-furb and why?
Interesting when Jenny Bradley turned up as Kevs date too, apart from a few more crows feet she hasn't changed much.
There are some good new characters on their atm, Owens Ex used to be on Eastenders, but where has Peter Barlow gone, didn't he get released from the Big House so he did?
Melanie Hill due on soon too: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/bread-actress-m...
