The official PH Coronation Street thread
Discussion
What I'd like is some cross soap interaction, some story line that involves the cast of Eastenders bunking down at the Rovers Return (or vice versa), say their local football clubs meeting in the first round of the FA cup, meeting on holiday, etc. then BBC & ITV can show editions of the same events but from their own perspectives! Imagine the love interest possibilities. (I will want paying for this idea if any writers are thinking of nicking it).
The only people who knock the Street are those who don't watch it ; if they did so they'd get razor sharp dialogue , Shakesperian level plotting and more subversive wit than in a millenium of standard soaps .
Re the cross soap plotting ISTR the BBC tried this with the Archers and the dire Waggoner's Walk in the 70s . It didn't work

There was this filmed a few years ago East Street;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGTYY3qONHM
Watch out for Gail and Denise discussing ex-husbands
As much as I love Corrie, I can't help picking holes in it. What's wrong with me?
If the real Gavin was so despised, and an outcast from friends and family, who put his obituary in the paper? And the comfy chair collapsing in Streetcars was sooooo Chuckle Brothers.
PS Headline in the Gazette "Weatherfield athlete breaks world record."

I keep seeing this thread title and it's always a bit irksome but, just now, a great plot came to mind.
Great plot ----> Bloody great big lorry bomb blows Coronation Street to bits. The End.

So Bethany has lived in Milan since she was a couple of years old. Which is obvious from her strong Italian accent!nicanary said:

Well I rushed home from a long day at work eager to relax, crack open a bottle and watch a couple of episodes only to find the bloody football on all night. I HATE it when they do that, why not put it on another channel somewhere. When is it on next, are they going to make up for the two missing episodes?
