Sarah Lou was as wooden as the Ark - crap actress and I guess a shouty nothing story line to deliver a bit of totty into the street. Not a bad thing but why so convoluted.

That's why she has been invisible since she left, couldn't even get booked for speeding. Right prima-donna attitude as well when you see her out and about.

Well last's nights episode must take the biscuit for the most incredibly ham acting I've EVER seen on the Weatherfield cobbles...

Friday's episodes look like they're going to be corkers - Fay's birth from the immaculate conception. Will Craig stay calm, or run like f*ck? Interesting product placement in Dev's store-room - 2 packs of Pampers visible behind the settee.

I'm confused. I thought Owen and Anna's lovelife was back to normal after her enforced sleepover with Feelan. They still appear to have issues.

What was the interaction about with Carla and Nick? Is something brewing there? Love/hate seemed in the air.

Anna threw herself at him so he wouldn't bugger off with amazingly hot first wife and now she has forgotten that and is denying him in the bedroom - I think the story progression is at an all time low right now and similar to what happened in Emmerdale (same producer)

Agree. Not been fully watching it lately, no interesting storylines.

They fessed-up pretty quickly, several weeks ago. It's Steph. That particular storyline - the whole fake Gavin, heart disease, the hardly believable scenario, is annoying me now. I wish it would come to some sort of conclusion, but I think the writers have got themselves into a corner.

I agree that a few silly plots are spoiling it slightly. I don't mind too much as long as the humour continues.

The thing about life on the cobbles is it is unrealistic to expect (imo) dynamite in every episode, I mean it would look a bit silly if The Rovers caught fire, or a train came through the viaduct every week, life isn't really like that is it?

Over the years, Coronation Street has often sailed into the doldrums for weeks on end, just ticking over, but thankfully the humour is usually still there.

I have often thought I would like to be a scriptwriter on the show, dreaming up new scenarios, it would be great, the best job in the world, I would even do it without pay.....biggrin

Anna is obviously still having some issues, and probably still not got over her experience with that rat Phelan, I bet Owen feels like he going to blow a gasket with sexual frustration......laugh

One thing that always amuses me about "the street" is sometimes characters can just fade out of the show for months on end, and breeze back in as though nothing has happened.

No doubt Deidre will have "an accident" whilst away, they will have to explain her death away before too long.

btw, has anyone noticed Steve seems to have a LOT more hair than he had three or four years ago. scratchchin

Anyhow, good luck to Faye, let's hope there are no complications tomorrow night.....smile

The Street(I am not at home to Mr Corrie) has always been at its best when nothing much is happening. It's a triumph of characterisation over plot and long may it continue as such . A waspish aside from Eileen, a smouldering glance from Tracy, a trademark piece of bhiness from Norris , a caveman stupid misunderstanding from Kirk or a double entendre from Steve can carry most episodes on their own.

I agree without reservation.

Although I feel the present plotlines leave much to be desired, I still wouldn't miss Corrie for anything. It knocks other soaps into a cocked hat, whatever that means........

Was Norris just being Norris when Sally skivied for him, or was there some back history for his pettyness towards her.

I've just watched my recordings of last night's episodes - highly entertaining. The young actress playing Fay did a good job considering she's almost certainly had no actual experience of that sort of thing.

As I predicted - looks like Carla and Nick will do the dirty deed. Tracy playing a classic PT (as we used to call it when we was nobbut lads).

Best thing of the night was Sally's snobbery. Seriously funny, and the actress plays the part so well.

Carla's flat with a central fire was interesting - in a flat! Fay did do well as she's not been the best, the new platt daughter I think is playing it superbly well as a 16 year old however she is supposed to be 14! Good episodes last night

I'm sick of hearing Ri'a and Pe'er and many other words missing the letter in the middle.

Tell them to let me know if they need any more. They can have them for nowt.
It gets worse. Last night Carla's proposed dinner was alpabe'i spaghe'i.
Four of the fkers missing in one short sentence.

What was she thinking about?
She should have had 'oops

What's the betting Tony will snap and just take what he wants and what she is/isn't offering on a plate?

The gay barman left just too much of a pause last night, sounded like a proposition! "What do you want....................... cock."

Owen's up to his old tricks again, punch engaging his fists before his brain.....poor Kirky...biggrin

A good spell in the cooler might calm him down a bit...

Looks like Bethany's ruse has backfired on her, dopy Jason & Sarah will be playing her like a fiddle.
