Some good comedy scriptwriting again this week with Sally and the mural.

And in last night's kitchen table, lingerie stitching scene, Beth says to Alya

"If Carla gets a whiff of your knickers, she'll have your guts for garters !"

hehe

More misery for me today as the Soaraway Sun reveals all sorts of things to come. Spoils it for me, wish I didn't read the blessed rag. But at least I know what Jenny does next.......

Along with others. And we know what happens to the Tony/Tracy plan, and the flats, and Jenny/Jack - it makes my blood boil. I know what you're thinking - don't read the article, but I'm a Corrie man through and through, and I can't help myself.

Apparently, and this is old news, the younger cast members want more pay, and the older ones think they are not getting enough storylines. Well I'm sorry Rita and Ken, but your acting's so wooden, it makes Roger Moore look like Sir Laurence Olivier. You're getting paid money for old rope.

Here's some advice- stop reading the Sun and buy The Times instead. It doesn't have much Street content. And my enjoyment won't be spoiled by you buggers spilling the beans!

Yes,(and I've been guilty of this myself),..can we all agree not to post any spoilers...even if it's common knowledge)....I am tempted to log on to Digital spy myself from time to time, and sometimes wish I hadn't....

I remember them well.

I'm afraid my reading matter is dictated by the paper bought by my place of employment. They line Murdoch's greedy mitts with 40p per day for a few pages of tat. Even today's Sunday Times has a photo of some random sprog on the front with the tagline "The new people's princess". Pass the sickbag.

I'll try to restrain myself in future if I have potential spoilers.

(BTW do you think tabloids do this to "help" their readers, or do they hold the soap to ransom by threatening to publish nothing about the programme unless they get advance info?)

Online Daily Fail is bad for spoilers. By the time you see the article it's too late because the spoiler alert also contains the spoiler (eg SPOILER ALERT: Cat falls off roof in Corrie), rather than making you click the article to read the detail.

Well sometimes with the best will in the world it is impossible to avoid leaked storylines, for example, you go in a newsagents to buy a Mars bar and there right in front of you is a copy of TV times, or some such low rent rag on the shelf with a big picture of Tracy on the front, (for example) exclaiming TRACY'S PREGNANT or similar.

Also, Granada's going to be running a series of teasers, in relation to an upcoming storyline involving her....rolleyes

If she is thanks for spoiling! I note that someone else is leaving and going back to doing what they were before. How successful that will be after all these years I don't know, but they often aren't very good. Leave on a high and don't go back and probably for another thread....

All these regulars leaving does make me worry for the future. Even if the scriptwriters keep up their usual high standard, the replacement characters have to be good enough to make it work. Some do - I like Tim and Maddie, but the Nazir family irritate me. Poor acting doesn't help.

We'll have to wait and see, there'll be no public referendum on this one. Swallow hard and bite the bullet, but I liked "XXX" and "XXX", they were good strong character parts. Never mind, Kylie and Eva should be back soon.

Ah....Annie Walker, bless her soul. The only person who could upstage Sally Webster in the snobbery stakes. It was the way she said the word "Rover", as if the very name of the marque signified being "from a higher caste".

Indeed she could. The show is missing a lot of the finesse and subtlety of the past, but if you look between the jobbing actors and also-rans, there are echos of a Stan and Hilda in Kirk and Beth and a few strong characters that are credible. But every panto needs a villian and a wicked witch and what better than Tracy Barlow to send conflicting shivers down the spine.

Weird. I was watching last night one scene where Mary's motorhome was in the background, and thinking to myself "I reckon that's illegal", and within minutes a storyline had developed along those lines. Spooky. (BTW where does she empty the dunny?).

The dog is a better actor than many of the cast. I have a horrible feeling that Steve will become very attached to it, refuse to let it go, and then his depression will return with a vengeance when the owner reclaims it. I'm a dog lover - let's enjoy its presence while we can.

David took a black taxi to the seaport, so it can't be far away. Liverpool? Heysham? Does Ireland beckon?
(Now David and Max are Heysham Boys, with laced-up boots and corduroys........smile ).

It was Liverpool, The Liver building can be seen in the background.

Regarding Annie Walker, one of my favourite storylines was when Eddie Yates offered to get her some deep pile carpet with "AW" embroidered throughout...all was fine, until she discovered it was secondhand out of the Alhambra bingo hall in Weatherfield. (AW)
