I thought it was terrific - the Ken in the alley thing was exactly how my father behaved when my mum died. Had never shown public emotion before and couldn't stop doing so afterwards. The glasses touch ? That was my mother in law with her late husband's specs which took pride of place on the mantelpiece for years.
Sara Louise really needs a good smack - and not in a pervy way either .And young Simon is doing a very good performance as a mixed up pubesecent boy from a broken home .
Tracey in tears - I don't think she had to act that one
Does Tracey actually realise that she started the fire in Carla's flat? As for last night's episode, pretty awful I thought.Sara Louise really needs a good smack - and not in a pervy way either .And young Simon is doing a very good performance as a mixed up pubesecent boy from a broken home .

Just watched it and was one of the worst episodes I can recall for just being so unbelievable, I'm not sure if it's the acting or script probably both but it left me cold (like Deidre)
Hope we get back to normal soon
Very poor effort at a Deidre 'tribute' episode, especially. Hope we get back to normal soon
I expect the episode with the actual funeral in it, to be the tribute show. But nontheless I fully agree that last night could have, and should have, been better. Some of the acting was dire, but we have to acknowledge that this is a soap, not the RSC. (PS did anyone else notice the hearing aid on Bill Roache?).
Ken being comforted by Steve reminded me of their "odd couple" times in the past, when they used to share a bottle of whisky. Bev's presentation of Deirdre's specs wrapped in tissue was brilliant - Corrie magic moment. And I liked the reference to her playing of the harmonica. I'd forgotten about that, although the OP will probably know more.

True some of the acting wasn't brilliant... but don't forget, many of the cast have known Anne for decades, so I doubt that their mind was in the place it should have been.Granted, they could have taken the opportunity to "act their socks off" in memory of her, but sometimes easier said than done.

That has to come out at some point. Surely?227bhp said:

That has to come out at some point. Surely? We've discussed in the past the fact that soaps can never get a villain right in mannerisms, speech, clothing etc..Corrie have got Callum spot on, from his tatty old Scooby, his shifty demeanour, and now that wonderful track suit he wears every day. I suggest it's offered to the thread in the Lounge called " a bit Council".
Carla won't be able to conclusively prove that she didn't do it - Unless she has an epiphany and says "I didn't leave the candle there" or there will be some mysterious CCTV footage that appears leading to a full on blackmail storyline involving Todd with Tracy then trying to cave his head in and then him reporting her for the attack on him and then saying "oh, Tracy said...."
There, I've got Corrie's storyline down for Tracy for the next 3 months
Failing that, Tracy will let slip something that she shouldn't have known and her furious backtracking will lead to the above.
Oh, Sarah needs to have an unfortunate accident. Her acting suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks

Lets not forget that Carla leaves in 4 months
I'd started to assume that it would be something like bankruptcy caused by her gambling, but maybe she's going to be pleasured by Her Majesty, or whatever the phrase is.Isn't that how it works in Soapland?

Callum's as camp as you like, i'm surprised Sean hasn't had a go yet What about Jez Quigley, Charlie Stubbs? In tonight's episode, what has that aging blonde got to do with Ken & Deirdre? I seem to remember she was someone's mother at The Rovers, but can't remember much more about her.
Apparently (according to the trailer I just saw) it's all going to kick off on Monday where Tracy stoops to a new low. I don't think that anyone's mentioned how much her daughter is being trained up to be just like her too
