Carla "has cheekbones like wing mirrors".....Catty.

Seems unbelievable she would use Nick's card to gamble, but I suppose that's addiction for you.

Very very sad.

rofl

On what planet would a tiny firm like PGO cough up millions for product placement in a prime time tv soap!
Selective quoting Mr Wonderkid, I said "The car must be a back hander, remember the PGO thing Rosie had ? I'm pretty sure that was "product placement"

The " " and use of the word "backhander" means I didn't think it was a kosher product placement
Ahh, ok, I'm with you.

On a more somber note, I thought the acting of Jenny McAlpine and David Neilson was first-class in last night's episode. A bit above the average by soap standards.

If the writers/production team are going to time this one for a denouement on Christmas Day, I'd get the tissues in bulk if I were you. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the plan.

Well why not, Eastenders have just killed a kid, so why not Corrie?

Because EastEnders is the pinnacle of TV depression and them killing a child, while fictional and thought provoking, is their modus operandi.

One thought.....scratchchin

How would you feel if it was your little girl who was the actress playing this part, dragging these harrowing scenes on right up to Christmas.?

I wonder if it might affect her in real life?

I don't think I would be too keen tbh.....

On a happier note,Kirk and Beth seem to be making a very good unexpected pairing, the most unlikely on the cobbles (imo) since Alf (boring shopkeeper) and Audrey (flighty piece) Roberts.

"My Kirky"........lol!

Quite often they have obviously shot the scene without the kid there and then just framed them in before/after, or they use a dummy kid which are noticeably rubbery!

Couldn't agree more. These parents who allow their kids to be support actors are letting themselves, and more importantly, their kids, get convoluted lives where it might be easy to forget what was real, and what was fiction. How the heck do you explain to a 4-year old the difference between real life and acting? How do you explain that the rows and fights they see aren't real? It's counselling waiting to happen.

Whatever - we all know that Coronation Street is actually a real time documentary ..

David Neilson was utterly superb in his acting on Friday - the nuances of emotion he felt didn't need words .

Tim and Anna getting "chummy" again. It'll all end in tears.

Zidane must be the most changed persona in soap history. All caring and aware of his responsibilities - he was surly and uncommunicative when he first appeared. Or does he fancy Leanne........?

That's exactly what Mrs WR said earlier tonight, I don't think he particularly fancies Leanne....(He used to despise her), but for some reason he's latched on to Simon)....(That kid gives me the creeps)

(Yes, I know he's only acting)

So, the truth is out with Tracy.....will she deny the conversation?...Carla has no proof it ever took place.....

Text messages all seem to have the same tone too. The old one that was on Nokia's years ago.

I noticed they all use Nokia phones on Corrie. Product placement?
Which reminds me, my nokia 930 should be here Friday!

Anna and Tim will bed, as will Leanne and Zidane, IMO.

Or Damien (Omen), he plays this part very well. Thought the scene where he was climbing out of the wardrobe to be very strange if not slightly funny too.

Our theory is that the scriptwriters originally planned for Zidane to become radicalised and become a jihadi; his early performances had that theme as a subtext. A very brave thing to try to do in a soap, but Corrie does have a track record of covering big issues very well. But I think with the onset of Isis and horror following horror in Syria etc they decided the time wasn't right.
