Good God - I seem to have encountered a rip in the space/time continuum and been transported back to 1974.And , worse still , encountered Bernard Manning to boot.
Oh come on, she's got a lovely pair of Yorkshires!

Saxo? Really?

It's a 182 Clio, racing blue.

I quite like the look of it. Between that and Callum's Impreza they've got some interesting cars st the moment hehe

Not like Rosie's thing she bought, I can't remember what that was though?
Urgh. Sorry, I only saw a glance of it and fired a response without thinking.

I'll return my PH card....

The most desirable car ever to grace the cobbles, I give you Gloria Price's lovely red "E" Type convertible, which she headed off into the sunset in with Dennis Tanner, after he jilted poor Rita the first time round......

The cad.

It's definitely a Clio - what I meant was , how can he race a car without a rollcage. It must be a track day.

Jane Wiedlin on the jukie - most excellent.

Different cardboard plod this time, same old "acting". And I can't see what grounds they've got for the arrest, but this is soapland.

Righto, Xmas in a few months time. So how about this for the Corrie Double-Episode Xmas Special? Jason intends to rough-up Callum, but accidentally kills him. Tony wants to help with a cover-up, and buries the body in Gail's extension under the manhole. Norris (in the nearby Kabin) says there's a funny smell coming from the sewer, and complains to the Council. Police dig up extension, know of the bad blood between Callum and the Platts, and arrest Gail. A new Weatherfield One. Gail finds a new kind of love in prison, and walks off into the sunset with a dungareed partner.............

Sorry, got a bit carried away.

There was one when she was in the big house last time wasn't there?

And isn't the Callum thing done yet, this pantomime villain nonsense has to stop soon, surely?

Given Callum had a gun in previous episode it makes you wonder why he doesn't just shoot the bald guy threatening him, that's how this would more than likely be resolved in real life. Not wasting precious time trying to extort money out of the Platts.

Regarding tonight's episode, more Cardboard cutout cops arresting Callum, probably safer in custody, than having Denton and his monkey getting hold of him.......
They may be made of cardboard but they always know which pub/bar the wanted person is at biggrin

Rush Hour features quite often on the Rovers jukebox.

The banter/relationship between Steve and Lloyd continues to amuse me, but sadly for not much longer. It will be sorely missed.

Id rather the Impreza (the proper one with the green cage) than an E-Type.

Not really sure what the massive appeal is with them TBH. Horrible looking things to my eyes.

Each to their own and all that.

Fair enough.

Some "E" types are pretty ugly in my eyes, for instance the 2 + 2 versions, they just looked like they had a roof tacked on as an afterthought, (They didn't look too bad from the back), but (imo) the convertibles, even the Mk 3 V12's were beautiful.

I don't think any Scooby can really be called that, but yes, they do have a cult following which is good.

The thing about the "E" type is in 1961 when it was introduced in 3.8 form, it was good for a genuine 140mph, at a time when the average car would struggle to do 85, even Enzo Ferrari called it the world's most beautiful car.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, those are just my thoughts...smile

Anyhow, I digress, back to the street......

I love the E Type, and think it looks wonderful. But many years ago, I got a chance to driver an early Series I and it was bloody horrible.

All of this pales into insignificance when the news from the Street is that Steve is having a 3 month break - so we've lost both proprietors of Street Cars. Better news is that Carla might be coming back in about 12 months - no doubt to find Nick in the arms of another.

(BTW IMHO beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. But there's no beauty in a Scooby, no matter how interesting it is to drive. The original Geneva Show E-type coupe was something to behold. especially from the rear three-quarter. Driving sensations have nothing to do with eye appeal.)
