That was a hell of a spanner.

I really didn't expect that, and so early in the show.

Did anyone else notice the Cilla Black song in the Rovers background early on, "Something tells me somethings gonna happen tonight"

Two things:-

How come there wasn't a trail of blood from Callum's head on the floor of Gail's kitchen, when he was dragged into it?.....Very strange.

Why did Kylie just happen to walk into Gail's with a two foot mechanic's monkey wrench, she didn't even know Sarah Lou and Callum were in the house......perhaps she was planning to fix a leaking tap or sumfink......biggrin

Overall, a lot happened in that hour....well done the cast, some great acting by Kylie after she bashed Callum.

Good hour of TV. Disappointed Callum didn't pop up from the manhole in the after-show show though.

Some interesting (but tame for PH) replies re the contents of Roy's Carlton bag.

Are you thinking more along the lines of the carefully peeled skin from Tina McIntyre's corpse? Or Bradshaws' timetable?

Bradshaws' timetable would be a permanent fixture on his bedside cabinet...essential bedtime reading.

I think "Roy" is becoming one of the main characters in the show, on the face of it, a boring recluse, but they are weaving some good storylines round him.

Tim's face made me laugh when Anna let him in at the end, and he could not resist having a quick peep at Anna's norks...hehe

(Imo) Tim and Anna would be a much better match than shallow Sally Webster. (nee Sally Seddon)

Didn't really explain why Callum's car exploded, presumably Tony and Todd had torched it?

Roy is a great character, well formed and believable.

Can the writers bury all the Platts in the same hole?

The show need a fresh blood - and not just the ketchup on the floor .

I'm surprised to see I'm the first to say they switched Callums car for the big bang. The one they blew up looked higher and had different wheels.

So now is anyone going to smell Callums rotting corpse? is Tony or Jason going to care when they come to fill the hole in or will they just encase him in concrete, that would be an interesting one for time team to dig up.

I've just had the chance to watch it all - considering the actors aren't exactly classically trained, I thought they did OK. There were a few "stumbles" in the Sarah/Callum argument, but nothing particularly embarrassing.

It was a good opportunity for the writers to clarify some relationships and quite a lot happened. I like Tim but his looks at Anna when he popped round for the night spelt "she's an easy touch tonight". Creepy. Great norks, though, real milking parlour..........

I have to point out that Corrie does have a habit of endowing its characters with more income than is truly feasible. Look at Roy's party - not only all the props, but that banner was individually made and would have cost a considerable sum. Who paid for that? And all the fancy dress?

The blood appeared to be Farrow & Ball Rectory Red.

She's the most skint of all of them, isn't she? Or have her tens of thousands of pounds of debt miraculously evaporated, soap-stylee?

Many people with businesses never have a pot to piss in but would sell their granny to keep up the appearance of doing well for another few weeks.

I was genuinely surprised by the strength of the acting outside the cast's normal comfort zone. I expected Roy to be strong (as opposed to Roy Strong ) as he is a fine actor who shows every nuance of emotion without having to say a word , and David Platt is usually workmanlike but Sarah Louise showed signs of acting competently for the first time ever. Or maybe Callum was showboating his last performance so much that he really did hurt her ? It's all been said re Anna's emboinpoint(as Tim wouldn't say) but ..my word....

I thought her money problems were sorted when she sold part of the business to the new chap?

I'm going for the Platts wake up in the morning, come down and the builders have concreted over the top.

I was expecting the manhole cover lid to move at the end, especially when in one scene where he was under the blanket, it clearly moved up and down as he breathed. Not seen anybody else mention that though. Cant have only been me that noticed it?

I said the same, but I also thought they were supposed to be filling the hole in? So they pump it full of concrete!?

That was slightly amusing, I did like the calm way they wandered away knowing it was about to blow up.
