BTW if the Platts leave the street, who pays the mortgage? Gail transferred the house to David, and it'll leave only herself and Michael (?), Sarah and Bethany to cover the costs of running the place. None of them has a proper job. Or is he thinking of renting the place to cover mortgage costs, with Gail applying for housing benefit? These things MUST be considered - I can't believe that the writers haven't had sleepless nights over this conundrum. Anyone would think they ignore real life.
Don't fret - they have a day to sort all that detail before leaving biggrin SoapInstaExit (TM)

Pedantry comes easy to me. I worry constantly about these issues - I have thought about offering my services to some of the Street's families who clearly cannot control their own lives. As one of the posts suggested, they have 24 hours to sort out transferring a family of four - have they considered what they're going to do about the dirty clothes still in the basket? What about new doctors and dentists? Just think about Max and his medication! How will Audrey cope with being a "man down"? Honestly, kids today!! And then there's the cost of 4 tickets to the Caribbean - my heart goes out to them, we all know they can't find that sort of money.

I'll sleep bady tonight, for sure...........

Wasn't expecting that. Thought it might be "knocked over by a car".

Pity Peter Barlow wasn't about to lick the cobbles clean........

I wouldn't want to be in Craig's shoes when David finds out he stood by and did nothing to help Kylie, if they lived in Emmerdale the ambulance response time would have been seconds.

I can see Craig being intimidated by Macca and Clayton so that he pretends he didn't see anything.

I liked the lack of interest by anyone in the street that there'd been an obvious incident of some sort - someone lay dying and only one or two passers-by bothered to watch. Even the ambulance crews parked-up to leave room for the cameras and meaningful long-range shots. No screaming, no sobbing (apart from David, a pretty decent bit of acting), but when he hugged anyone there was no blood left on their clothes.

Lily seemed a bit unconcerned. At least they won't now need my assistance with the logistics of moving across the Atlantic.

It was all a bit Emmerdale-ish. It seemed like Paula Lane had given the writers notice about 3 months ago, and they'd kept leaving it on the back burner until a couple of days before the "murder", and then hastily concocted some sort of scenario that enabled her to quit. Not properly thought out, really. I felt kind of sorry for the actors, being landed with that script and screenplay- they probably did the best they could.

(I've scrapped my software programme for the transatlantic house move. Clearly it's no longer required. I had spreadsheets and everything all ready.)

I think you take this show a bit too serious sometimes....smile

Yes, The screenplay was terrible, if someone had really been dying in the street right outside the Rovers front door after being stabbed everybody including the bar staff would have come out in a blind panic to see if they could help. but obviously supping Newton & Ridley's best bitter was more important.

There was just no "atmosphere", people seemed to be strolling around as if they were zombies in slow motion...watch it again.

Roy was useless. Your analogy of zombies is spot-on. It was all a bit odd, very un-Corrie.

Onwards and upwards. I'd like to see Becky turn up for the funeral ("awraht, Stevie?") but I fear the writers will write in some excuse or other (like Katherine Kelly turned them down). The post-death grieving will give Gail a chance to do her impression of a turtle-head, her turn-to these days when she gets some lines.

The GF watches it, so by extension so do I.
We did the tour before it closed and I have seen it now for a good few years, but I commented to her that I thought last night was rubbish. Totally unrealistic and 'plastic' in the acting. Could have easily done much better.
Thought the make up on Kylie was good though haw she got paler in the scenes and then looked properly dead by the end.
Didn't even see her breathing!

Yes, I must admit that was good, I've seen a few dead bodies and she did look dead all right....biggrin

So it wasn't all bad.

I haven't watched it again, so I may be wrong, but when Clayton knifed her he grasped her closely and brought the knife in a sweep into her side, yet the wound was close to her heart. I can't see how he could have produced a stab so high up her body.

Just saying.

Modern make-up techniques are a real bonus. Years ago they would just have plastered some ketchup over her clothes.

"Empty the till!"

Craig "Don't hurt me!" when the robber was nowhere near him. Wuss.

I was right - the knife went in at waist height. (I bet Paula Lane wasn't too keen on doing that scene what with her being about 7 months gone. I hope they had mattresses laid about in case she fell.)

'cause its getting too hot to keep wearing anoraks and carrying a cushion around to hide her ever increasing bump.
