So just to recap.
Nessa pictured here:-
Is Cathy's sister.
Nessa had an affair with Cathy's late husband who died a couple of years ago, and Alex was the result.
Cathy's late husband has for years, been paying money to Nessa for Alex's upkeep, without Cathy's knowledge.
Cathy has just found out about all this, and is in turmoil.
You will remember Nessa recently went out with Ken Barlow, but he fired her off when she started to get her feet under the table a bit too much.
All clear?
Thanks Wacky!p We'd been trying to remember the background during last night's episodeNessa pictured here:-

AS I think I may have said before friday's scripts are always the best and the camera angles tend to be more creative too. Last night's script was just razor sharp - and how plodding people such as Maria seem(both the character and the actor)next to the delights of Mary and Roy - and Steve, Kirk , Tracey and Dev on a good day too .

Difference between actors and amateur dramatics phoning it in such as Maria, Eva, Tyrone, Kevin and others.berlintaxi said:
No time to plan an exit either - he will just vanish.berlintaxi said:
Oh dear, be careful what you say online. Amusing how people are condemning him in the comment section when what he said is pretty much standard fare in the DM comment section. The wording of the Tweet almost suggests alcohol had been consumed, but he's Muslim. Violence on the Kashmir border is nothing new - there's been tension and occasional fighting there ever since partition. I can't see why the latest unpleasantness should be big news.
It's no big loss to the Street. His acting is mediocre in the extreme - I hope that some of the family remain, though, because it's good to have some ethnic variation in a soap. (Didn't he and Dev have some banter over something involving their ethnic heritage - maybe the cricket match?). The problem for the producers is writing-in his departure immediately when most episodes have been filmed weeks ago. Shades of Bobby Ewing in the shower......
When's Jason coming back from his session with the ladyboys? Pat and Vinnie have no idea (unless the scriptwriters told them ) so they're treading on thin shells. They need to get a move on, or Jas will be arriving with his cashmere coat (very topical, see above.....)to the soundtrack of Bob Hoskins in The Long Good Friday.

Where is Alex supposed to find the money for the mortgage on a flat? It seems like everyone is thinking they just pay a deposit and worry about that later.
Also why is Coronation Street the only featured street of apparently highly desirable two bed terraces and anyone who lives anywhere else lives in semis with massive gardens?
none of them seem to need to get a mortgage in place! Also why is Coronation Street the only featured street of apparently highly desirable two bed terraces and anyone who lives anywhere else lives in semis with massive gardens?

The biggest shock in that story is that he's only 45!!!! fk, he's had a hard life.
I think that's a misprint; 55 would be my guess.http://www.castingcallpro.com/uk/actor/profile/mar...
I think he may have aged even more in the last 24 hours!

He's 55, this article from his site printed in 2006 said he was 45 back then.
