The official PH Coronation Street thread

To me "Simon" has always seemed a lot older than his years.
He's either a great young actor or extremely intelligent.
Many young "actors" they bring into the "Street" are too busy looking at the camera when they are saying their lines, instead of who they are talking to,.... and obviously have to be prompted from the sidelines.
Max being a prime example.
Yup. Totally with you on that one. Can't act, won't act. Lily's a better actor than him, if a little stiff at times*.He's either a great young actor or extremely intelligent.

(* my little joke - it's a doll they're holding)
OK, last night's episodes...
Peter really was sinking into despair, abandoning all hope. good job "the landlord" stepped in to talk some sense into him before it was too late...(so it was).
Roy was not best pleased when his café was taken over as the local creche, the look on his face was priceless.
Meanwhile, I've a feeling there is going to be big trouble at Jason's building yard, when the work Gary has just completed goes tits up due to using inferior materials to cut costs. That Todd is big trouble I'll tell ya.
Rob seems to look more and more worried with every episode..is he going to crack up?
Stay tuned for more excitement........

Tracy got some good lines last night. The look on her face when she thought someone wanted Kirk as a husband.
I'm beginning to think that one of the Corrie scriptwriters is a member of PH - is it me, or has Jim's Belfastspeak gone way over the top? There's a "so it is-ism" in every sentence now. I live in the Province, and I don't recall meeting anyone who does it THAT often.
Jim's obviously "grooming" Peter for future dirty deeds - he's tormenting him with the booze, getting him just where he wants him. I wonder what his plan is?

Todd will hopefully land in Tyrone's 1st floor after coming through that 12mm MDF in the loft conversion
Rob will tell someone soon, I don't know why but I think it might be Michelle. This is all going to be ongoing until Xmas.
I went on the Corrie tour the other week and they told us a few things about the background music being relative, the colour of the walls etc being relative (Like red for an argument, cream for a calm scene) and even things/pictures on the wall being relevant. For Eg, apparently when Hayley was told her cancer was terminal there was a pair of clogs hanging on the wall!

I wish Ken and Deirdre would get a new stereo - looks almost like an Amstrad music center from a 1980 Littlewoods catalogue!
Sorry, I digress, back to the riveting plots..........
But isn't that the whole point? Ken is a traditionalist, he hates change. He would take the attitude - it works fine, why change it? And he's tight as a duck's wotsit.Sorry, I digress, back to the riveting plots..........

Just like to say, as the OP, I wasn't sure how this thread would be received on PH, as Corrie is one of those shows that you either love or hate...
As I said, I've been hooked virtually since the first episode I saw in 1960 as a kid, on my gran's 10" tele....
However, I'm pleased to see there's a small dedicated band of followers on here, and hopefully numbers will increase a bit, as time goes on.
Anyhow, thanks very much for your contributions, they are appreciated....
I work at night, 5 days a week, so I record on the blessed, sainted Sky+. I only record a few things, because time and life are short, but I would never miss an episode of Corrie. The only other regular recordings are (not that anyone's interested) Big Bang Theory, 8 out of 10 cats, Mock the Week, and that's about it.As I said, I've been hooked virtually since the first episode I saw in 1960 as a kid, on my gran's 10" tele....

The other soaps just don't cut it.
My missus got me into it about 15 years ago, I don't watch every episode, as I'm often out of an evening, but probably at least 50%, certainly enough to keep up to date. It's the only soap she watches, but she hasn't missed an episode for 25 years since she was 10. We lived over in the States a number of years ago, before any streaming video etc. and we used to act out the episodes from the Corrie fan sites who posted blow-by-blow accounts of each episode - I'd play the male characters, her the female ones. I did Eccles too.
