To the best of my knowledge I have missed only one episode since I got married 33 years ago, and that was only because I set the VHS video to record BBC1 by mistake when I was on holiday....
Likewise Mrs WR, who had no interest before, has probably only missed around ten.
I accept we should seek help.....

I wish Ken and Deirdre would get a new stereo - looks almost like an Amstrad music center from a 1980 Littlewoods catalogue!
Sorry, I digress, back to the riveting plots..........
Was trying to read the name of the manufacturer tonight. Quite short, I think it may be a Bush.Sorry, I digress, back to the riveting plots..........

Which one was it and I'll tell you what happened. As DS says, Lloyd's daughter won't really be missed, although I had to laugh when she hugged him and said words to the effect It was nice knowing you, when she was only going to Burnley.
Poor Kirky, is he ever going to get to propose?
Big Jim's showing a more sinister side to his character (so he is), I suspect Peter is in for a bumpy ride....

You've got to give it to Corrie - they get a lot of detail right.
(BTW that boy scout etching on Ken's hallway wall - have you seen how camp it is? The lad is standing in a very coy position, with one foot in a girlie pose, and Jesus has one hand on his shoulder. All very Operation Yewtree).

I can't help thinking we need to get out more.
I was just pondering on things, and just realised that Corrie hasn't really reflected on the Great War centenary, apart from the kerfuffle when Tracy sold Uncle Albert's MM. Like most soaps, the characters don't refer to football results or what was on TV the night before, but usually the writers of Corrie mention social events. I recall that Norris was a volunteer at the Manchester Commonwealth Games.
Although there's only the knicker factory left in the area, I should imagine that 100 years before, Weatherfield would have been a centre of the textiles industry - wasn't Victoria Court built on an old mill site? And that makes me think that they would have supplied a "Pals" battalion - yet there's no mention of anything. Just a thought.
(Completely and absolutely OT, but today I watched the documentary from BBC2 last night about foreigners who served in WW1 - the sight of the cemetery full of Chinese coolies, with gravestones engraved in Chinese characters, really came as a shock. And the makeshift mosque in a bunker in a Belgian field. Food for reflection.)
