Great acting. Good job it wasnt Caz or Maria playing that part.
So true. I'm always a bit uneasy when a pop star or minor celebrity is recruited to Corrie, because we never know just how much acting ability or experience they have. Is it just to boost ratings, or has the producer spotted some talent, I ask myself?I reckon Kym Marsh is worthy of her place, no doubt. Even Keith Duffy wasn't too bad, but then again he was just playing himself in a way - the Irish cheeky chappie.

Kym Marsh played the part wonderfully. Very brave.
Stve on the other hand. He's an awful actor.
I'd agree with you that he's a bit one-dimensional, but he has a way with humour and the timing that is required with that style. Stve on the other hand. He's an awful actor.
I personally didn't think he did the "depression" period of his life particularly convincingly, but he's unequalled when paired with a comic partner like Lloyd or Tim.
We've discussed Andy's inability to express emotion, but I reckon Daniel is his double. You need more than just deliver lines.

I am sure Sinead is a sweet girl etc but she's defined by her sheer ordinariness.Unremarkable and slightly saurian looks from very wide-set eyes, no academic but not entirely thick and mainly defined by a lovely accent you could carve up with a knife and fork. Girl next door yes-but 'stunna' ? (other sexist terms are available)-not in a million years.
I have never heard the term 'Saurian' before so that's a new one on me! She is slightly alien like though.I've often looked at her and thought she's got all the right ingredients, but there is just something there that prevents her from being a 10/10 stunner and I don't know what it is. She'd do ok for me in real life though, but I can't agree with you over her accent and her bunged up nose voice is terrible.

I suppose that's what method acting is all about, ice in the heart and all that .
Oooohhhhh ...that's a bit iffy. IMHO of course. Can't have been easy for her.BTW the popular TV quiz show "The Chase" had a question a few days ago which I got right - what was the setting of the very first scene in Corrie? One of the options was The Rovers, I've forgotten the second, but the correct answer was Florrie Lindley in her corner shop. What memories.....
(Are we to believe that Freddy's mate got hold of a state-of-the-art CCTV set-up from old bits and pieces of scrap? The whole and complete installation? Something that can pick up clearly conversations from 30 yards away from the garage? Oh to be a soap script-writer..... such largesse from the producers...... the freedom of fantasy fiction)
