I suppose that's what method acting is all about, ice in the heart and all that .
Oooohhhhh ...that's a bit iffy. IMHO of course. Can't have been easy for her.BTW the popular TV quiz show "The Chase" had a question a few days ago which I got right - what was the setting of the very first scene in Corrie? One of the options was The Rovers, I've forgotten the second, but the correct answer was Florrie Lindley in her corner shop. What memories.....
(Are we to believe that Freddy's mate got hold of a state-of-the-art CCTV set-up from old bits and pieces of scrap? The whole and complete installation? Something that can pick up clearly conversations from 30 yards away from the garage? Oh to be a soap script-writer..... such largesse from the producers...... the freedom of fantasy fiction)
Trivia note:- One of the young girls was called Lynda Belcher......(Later to become famous as Lyn Paul of the New Seekers pop group)... I was in the same class at school as her brother Michael.

Will Pat Phelan get his hands on Kev's laptop, before he has chance to view and hear the downloaded footage of Phelan admitting his complicity in the great flat scam?
Wait. What? As it Luke would just give up that much info that quickly...I've been avoiding Corrie this week as I didn't want to watch the storyline unfold
ETA - Literally just caught the end of the last episode

Crikey. Maybe the question was "where were the first words spoken?". Looks like the show may have made a mistake, and more to the point, so did I.........
I've trawled the internet for the footage, but Granada must have removed it for some reason.(I have it on DVD at home)
It was there last year on You tube definitely.
This is the very next scene ten seconds later, inside the shop....The woman with Florrie that goes in the back is the shop's previous owner, showing her the ropes.
lol@ at Ena's comment about the C of E religion.

Wow. Long time since I saw that. Maybe the best opening of a soap, anywhere, ever. Ena Sharples was simply a top character (I have it on DVD at home)

creation, difficult to better. Bitter, sarcastic, seemingly at odds with the world, but IIRC she could occasionally slip out of character and offer wise advice to troubled young people. She had more heart than you'd think, but didn't like other folk to know it.
What happened to the Glad Tidings Hall?

It must have been excruciating and I absolutely don't deprecate Kym Marsh's acting here, which was as good as she has ever done . But I do recall talking to a couple of public figures in the arts (Juliet Stevenson and Andrew Motion , pardon the name dropping) about how , even during the most horrible family crisis , there's still a little voice saying -' remember this , remember just how you felt, yiou'll use it one day ' . Hence Graham Greene's famous words that writers should always have 'a splinter of ice in their hearts'. nicanary said:

The Glad Tiding mission was demolished to make way for Mike Baldwin's factory.Ena Sharples was the caretaker....a nice scene here in the mission with Leonard Swindley..(Arthur Lowe)

Swindley was the manager of "Gamma Garments" a traditional old fashioned women's dress shop, and his hapless assistant was "Miss Nugent"....(Emily Bishop).
The owner of the shop was Mr Papagopolous...(Who, like Fat Brenda, you never saw)
