So we say goodbye to yet another Nick. Can't say I will miss the constant frowning and picking an argument with everyone in the street. Will he reappear later as another incarnation I wonder?
Has he actually gone anywhere?
Not yet.....biggrin

Blimey! Poor Leanne - that leaves her with someone else's sprog, and no doubt Simon will return to being an a-hole.

Peter Barlow was Simon's biological Dad.
Correct, but Leanne isn't his biological mum. His mum was Lucy the flower shop woman.

There is always the rest of the Barlow clan or perhaps Steve will be back when Michelle gets fed up with him!!
At least that way the sprog will (unusually) have its biological parents as "real life" Mum and Dad!

I love Ken's naivety. He considers that anything that pleases him will please anybody else. You'd think with his experience of life, and his innate intelligence, he'd give a bit of thought about what others might be thinking. Adam's face!

Even with Wikipedia, I'm still confused as to how he's anything to do with Ken. He's Baldwin's son isn't he?

Yes, Baldwin's son but the mother was Ken's daughter (Susan?).

All from memory so I might be completely wrong!

That's right.

So Kevin, having spent 30+ yrs in the motor trade, and no doubt spoken to hundreds of people who have been involved in a car accident, has now made the amazing discovery (having overheard a conversation in The Rovers), that if you're injured in a car crash and it's not your fault, you can actually sue for damages!!!! Who knew????

I wonder if this news might filter down to Sinead and the other minibus crash victims, the tram crash victims etc. But the time everyone in Corrie has had their rightful payouts, they'll have to relocate them all to Alderley Edge and change the program name!

Utterly ridiculous that this has never come up before.

Yes indeed. I doubt he has any personal liability insurance. I doubt very much that he had insured that old Astra which caused the accident. Another silly Corrie storyline - you'll get no compensation from insurance that doesn't exist. They'll have to go down the road of claiming compensation as victims of crime, and that can't happen unless David is prosecuted and found guilty of a crime.

PS just remembered David owns the house. He could be forced to sell it to cover payments, but maybe there's a mortgage in place.

I thought the same about David having no assets to cover the claim but how about the Motor Insurance Bureau or Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority?

If David is uninsured, they would have a valid claim from the MIB, who would settle Anna's injury claim and then look to get the money back off David by forcing him to sell the house etc.

I think David must have been insured, as the police were involved in the accident investigation and there was no mention of him being prosecuted for no insurance.

I'm surprised it wasn't the first thing Anna thought of, normally, many people these days if they hurt their little toe they are on the blower pronto to some ambulance chaser firm.

About fifteen years ago, I was going in my local WH Smith to buy a mag...(no, not one of those)...it was about 5.25 and I tripped over the cleaners hoover wire, which was draped across the entrance door. I quickly recovered my balance, didn't fall over, cursed to myself for not seeing it and carried on.

A young lad, no more than ten saw this and shouted across "Compensayshun!!"....biggrin

So:- Next week, we are going to have the battle of the bulge.

Who's going to win? Rosie or Eva?

I wonder if Phelan will withdraw his kind offer to renovate the garage, when he finds out the insurance won't pay up?

Maybe he will feel sorry for Kev and do the job for now't.........smile
