I'm surprised it wasn't the first thing Anna thought of, normally, many people these days if they hurt their little toe they are on the blower pronto to some ambulance chaser firm.
About fifteen years ago, I was going in my local WH Smith to buy a mag...(no, not one of those)...it was about 5.25 and I tripped over the cleaners hoover wire, which was draped across the entrance door. I quickly recovered my balance, didn't fall over, cursed to myself for not seeing it and carried on.
A young lad, no more than ten saw this and shouted across "Compensayshun!!"....
So:- Next week, we are going to have the battle of the bulge.
Who's going to win? Rosie or Eva?
I wonder if Phelan will withdraw his kind offer to renovate the garage, when he finds out the insurance won't pay up?
Maybe he will feel sorry for Kev and do the job for now't.........
Eva for me. Rosie is more attractive, but she's nowt but trouble. Eva is the sort of girl who would make you a nice supper, fetch your slippers, and still be a livewire in the sack. Aidan is one lucky b*gger.About fifteen years ago, I was going in my local WH Smith to buy a mag...(no, not one of those)...it was about 5.25 and I tripped over the cleaners hoover wire, which was draped across the entrance door. Eva, Lovely puppies.
She's been in the Street some time now, but I don't recall the directors making much of her assets in the early appearances. It's almost as if they woke up one day to the possibilities of making the most of her charms. It certainly attracts the menfolk who watch this show, and maybe that's the producers' intentions. The longer-serving male inhabitants of the Street will know Rosie, and will steer well clear. Adam will be in like a rat up a drainpipe.
It's getting more ridiculous by the episode. Sally volunteering to split Sophie's medical costs. Why wasn't she paying half in the first place?
Anna worried about a long legal battle for compo, and she might lose???? No need for any legal battle. And how the fk could she lose? Is David's negligence in question? A letter to David's insurers, along with a medical report from the hospital that treated her, and the police reference number, is all that's needed. Insurers would do their own medical assessment and make an offer immediately. In line with the agreed sums laid down for injury.
I suspect at her age (early 40s) and with that level of suffering and scarring, £100K to £150K would be paid out pretty routinely.

I assume Anna does not own a TV hence she has never seen the numerous adverts on daytime TV from the "no win,no fee" ambulance chasers. Especially as she was house bound for the last few months.Anna worried about a long legal battle for compo, and she might lose???? No need for any legal battle. And how the fk could she lose? How about Phelan offering to "help out" with the compensation claim then doing a runner with the money? About as feasible as the other plot lines at present.
I don't think even the present writers and planners are that daft. Neither Anna nor Kevin will give Phelan the time of day. I doubt they would take advice from him.I agree about Anna and TV. Is there anyone in the real world who hasn't heard of compo? It's part and parcel of life amongst the working classes (and above).
