I agree about Anna and TV. Is there anyone in the real world who hasn't heard of compo? It's bread and butter to the non-working classes.
FTFY smile
yes It pays for young Taylor's quad bike at Xmas that he can't use because there's nowhere to ride it innit, and it's not right and all that and why can't the council provide somewhere for these kids to ride 'em and while they're at it maybe the council could give me a shed to keep it in cos it'll get rusty outside just like the trampoline did........

Talking of television, has anyone in the history of Corrie actually watched a television programme on the show?...scratchchin

I certainly can't remember anyone doing.....

It's quite normal in a pub to say "Did you see so and so on TV last night?"

I suspect Ken Barlow listens to Radio 4 though, in his armchair.......

Yes, they've discussed stuff on telly, usually made up programmes. But soap law says no one on soaps ever watches other soaps, and no one shares the same first name.

I can't ever remember seeing anyone actually watching a television programme, although you sometimes see David Platt and young Max playing a computer game on their TV.

A bit meta isn't it - a soap opera featuring somebody watching a soap opera? It's drama - suspend your disbelief !

I think he's also put on a DVD for the kids to watch. The adults seem to spend most of their time in the Rovers, proving that in fact they earn far more money than we realise. It's only in recent years that we've seen frequent reference to the local football team. Life is indeed very strange in soapland.

Tristram Street - a tale of everyday Southern folk in the Hampstead area.

Talking of people that have appeared elsewhere, the femme fatale that Peter had in his cab was also a PR guru in The Bill, some years ago. If I remember, she was at it with DC Mickey Webb and the ginger superintendent, so she's got form, so to speak.

It's amazing how life seems to be contained in this tiny bubble of the street. Everyone works within 2 seconds of their house, all the amenities are on their doorstep, there's never any reason to leave the street, ever. Whatever happened to Freshcos or Audreys house?

It's where they all park their cars that bugs me. When they do use them they all seem to miraculously appear from no where to right outside their house. I've always wondered where Roy's Morris Minor lived. It's got to be garaged as it's always immaculate.

Freschcos still gets the odd mention, but is not really featured since Reg Holdsworth and "Curly" Watts have left the programme.

I used to live in Hadfield (League of Gentlemen country), so I can quite believe this!

To be fair, no different to the hordes of other ladies that throw themselves at back street taxi drivers and then shower them with cash because they've chatted over a coffee for 30 mins rolleyes

She also played "Fanny Tickler" in Phoenix Nights. She paid Max and Paddy to bump off her husband. Max intended to shoot him with his "broom handled Mauser" but he chickened out.
You could google "Fanny Tickler" for the full story.
On second thoughts, don't.

Yes, it was a bit far fetched wasn't it?,... unless, of course she was tempting him to come back another day for "more".....

And, as we all know, Peter Barlow is a bit weak willed......
