That's what I was thinking, although I suppose there's no such thing as a typical nonce, just our image of a stereotype. I agree that the one who asked about "availability" looked extremely dodgy, a good bit of casting by the crew. The rest of them looked like a bunch of mates out having a beer and a bit of gaming. OK, I haven't been looking at any spoilers, but this is how I suspect the Bethany storyline pans out.....
Shona, who has suffered at Nathan's hands in the past puts two and two together, and realises Bethany's Nathan is one and the same....
She happens to mention her fears to Gail/Sarah lou/Gary.....
Gary erupts into a fit of rage, his shirt front rips open like the incredible hulk.....he flies around to Nathan's flat, Kung fu kicks the doors down, and lays out ALL the party goers one at a time Bruce Lee stylee,
rescuing terrified Bethany who is drugged up to the eyeballs, just before any dirty deeds are done.
(Or something like that)

My very limited knowledge of underage grooming suggests that what is happening isn't quite the same as that of which we read in papers or see on TV news. Those cases are usually very vulnerable kids from care homes or even living on the streets. Not quite what we are watching. Yet it seems plausible compared to the Flats scenario, or Adam and the drugs.
I hope it's resolved soon though - it makes me feel uncomfortable.
