Tracy has an Interflora franchise for her florists shop - she has just completed the florist's Holy Trinity of paydays. Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. It's what keeps florists going for the rest of the year.

Obviously she had no collateral to offer the bank for the shop purchase, but surely she would have had a substantial sum to offer the bank as a deposit?
Isn't she renting it from Peter? If he sells the freehold, she'd just have a new landlord.
She had been talking about buying the shop from Peter, so I assumed he held the freehold, and she was actually buying the bricks and mortar.
That'd be a fair enough storyline - but she's acting like she'll have to close down if he sells the freehold aka bricks & mortar.
Maybe there's no official lease. Is it possible Peter is just taking rent off her each month as cash in hand?
She's gonna have a tenancy protected by section 24-28 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, Part II

Loved the ending as the policewoman addressed the family, and the camera panned from one person to the next. Good old-fashioned drama and tension. Da da Dahhhhhh........
And again just now - they're all looking shifty smile

What was that business with Tracy being asked to go to the cop shop? Was that explained, or is my old man brain all confused?

I think she's looking shifty because she's suddenly realised that because Adam asked her to delete her phone messages he might be in the frame...

Anyone notice Tyrone Dobbs seems to have a lot thicker hair than he had a few months ago?

Same with Steve M'cDonald, Nick Tilsley and Shaun Tully.

It's the water.

Loved Ty's comment "I smell like a chip" during the massage - she must have been using cooking oil! I can see comedy moments ahead if Fiz goes through with her plans - misunderstandings and mayhem guaranteed.

If she's paying cash in hand month to month what's the likelihood of being contracted out?

This is what I suspect. There's probably no official lease and he's sub-letting without the lessor's knowledge.

I'm pretty sure he owns the freehold. You don't need a formal lease to get tenancy protection... Tracy should speak to a lawyer/surveyor....

So how did Peter ever find the money to buy the shop in the first place? I can't remember. Maybe his gratuity when he left the Navy?
