Was I hearing incorrectly, or did Peter say to Jim something like "why don't you use a ream of A4 next time"? What the heck !! Papermaking references?? D'ye reckon the scriptwriters had a bet on between them to see if they could get that phrase into the transmitted episode?

Tim can't read or write? Yet he initiated contact with his daughter over the internet through social media?

Why do they add these ridiculous character traits? Not to mention this is a storyline that happened in Emmerdale!

He could have got a mate to do it for him! Can anyone actually remember a scene where he's been seen texting or reading/writing? Corrie are normally pretty good with this kind of thing, and I would expect that when they decided to go with the illiteracy angle, a researcher / intern would have been made to review all his previous scenes to see if it fitted. Now there's a fking dull job.

If there was only one or two small incidences of him reading / writing, they would go for it. But if there was much more than that, they would drop the idea.

I've also noticed that Corrie have arranged for Tim to revert to his old ways of late - he had appeared to turn a leaf and become reliable and sensible, but now the script has him as his old lazy, irresponsible self. Ignoring requests to sweep leaves and cut grass. What's that got to do with being illiterate? (BTW presumably Sally can't afford to buy him new ladders?)

Ray Allen is dead - I wonder if Lord Charles is still going? Class.

(Is the washing powder in Gail's home called "Wowser"? That's what it looked like.)

Yes, he was texting another woman soon after his arrival. I think she lived in Newcastle. It was around the time he started working with Jason.

Well isn't Dev a lucky guy?...Two fit women fighting over him........(Well they go to the gym anyway)..biggrin

tbh, I was glad to see the back of Neil, he was beginning to get on my tits.

I see Fred's old butcher's shop is going to be the new Weatherfield community centre...."I say Ashley, I said I say".....Poor Fred, gone to that great chopping block in the sky...got to admit I do miss him.

As has been mentioned, Kirky's gag about Lord Charles cracked me up......Vintage Corrie.

David is well pissed off with Kylie, will he forgive her?

Keep tuning in.......

I missed the first 10 mins of the second episode last night, what is he pissed with her for? Has he caught her taking Max's smarties?
What did he get diagnosed in the end, was it ADHD?

Yes and Yes.

Kylie explained to David that she was taking the tablets to "calm her down", she knew she was doing wrong but could not help herself.

David was due to go to the chemist but got waylaid, when Audrey had a minor bump in her car, so never went, leaving "Max" without any Ritalin tablets, as Kylie had taken the last one. David went berserk when he found out and is really giving Kylie a hard time, but has not told Gail.........yet.

Just checking that this thread is still going.

Yes it is.

I'm off now to stick hot coals down my underpants and remove my eyes with a rusty spoon.

With a bit of luck, the gods will receive this sacrifice and forgive you all...

If you think Corrie is poor TV, watch the other soaps. My case rests.

The Street is beautifully written , terrifically acted and has strong plot lines backed by even stronger characterisations. I am not ashamed to have been addicted for decades- and I don't watch any other soap . Spend 10 minutes watching popular but utterly ste TV ( Downton, Srictly ,X factor and the rest) and you will realise that there is lowest common denominator tabloid telly and there's good telly like the Street. It's been said before but if Dickens were still writing he'd probably be doing scripts for the Street.

I can't decide how the Julie/Dev situation is going to pan out. She was a classic "trying too hard" case with that hand puppet - the kids are way too old for that, not toddlers. But Dev is lonely......

I can't wait for Becky's return. I keep imagining a sort of entrance like Bob Hoskins in The Long Good Friday. Determined, sinister, taking no sh*t from anyone. She'll sort out that Calum guy, that's for sure.
