Well, I have to say a couple of very strange episodes tonight...(imo)
Probably some of the worst acting I've seen on the "street" in recent years, allied to a few daft story lines....
Maria's quest to buy the secondhand car, complete with diabetic vendor and Tracy about to run off with penniless Rob...(What about poor Amy?......well I suppose Steve can always bring her up........Oh wait....he's going through a breakdown.......
Michael's ridiculous portrayal of a drunken man......
Come on Corrie......get your act together.....
Agreed Wacky. Not up to the usual standard at all, and on a par with the worst Australian soaps. Hopefully it was a temporary aberration.Probably some of the worst acting I've seen on the "street" in recent years, allied to a few daft story lines....

It's usually the jukebox in the Rovers, but "appropriate" music in Roy's Rolls yesterday - Handel's "Fireworks". nice touch.
Apparently, Anne Kirkbride (Deidre) is off the series with exhaustion. And today's redtop claims Simon Gregson (Steve) has a debilitating illness and he'll have to be written out for an indefinite period. (Will they say he's gone into a clinic to treat his depression?)
Anyhoo...... Audrey last night - "They say people who hate each other really fancy each other, just think of the great novels - North and South, Pride and Prejudice, and those lovely young men in Brokeback Mountain." Classic.

So Carla's celebrating the biggest contract they've had for a long time. 10,000 pairs of knicks. I've always assumed, possibly incorrectly, that the stuff the factory makes is sort of middle-price - not the designer-price kit, but a notch up from a pack of 5 for £3.99. But an order of 10,000 is a big deal?
She's got about 15 staff there, plus rent on the unit and all the usual utilities - I think she sells direct to retailers like catalogues, but all the same the profit margin will only be about £2-3 a pair, surely? IMO the figures don't add up.
Whilst Corrie does generally select the "right car" for the characters, I see Kal drives an 03-plate Audi A4 Avant. His kids are adults, he hasn't got a dog, he doesn't lug loads around. Seems wrong to me, I reckon an "available" gym-owner would drive something like a Jap sporty coupe.
