I rather enjoyed those two episodes. Good quality Corrie.

Having said that, the writers are not immune from typical soap conundrums. If Carla was so short of funds that she celebrated a £10k order for knix, how come she could readily write a cheque to Michelle to cover the cost of Tracy's wedding? And the Asian family - buying No.6 because of the cost of commuting from their present house, but how come they turned up on Coronation Street in the first place? Have we ever had an explanation, apart from Kal going there to meet up with old army buddy Gary?

Best thing for me was Sinead - drunk on glasses of still water. When I was a lad there was always a girl at the disco or party who danced like that - usually a sort of hippy type. She's a real oddball, but a brilliant character.

Yes, they've really developed her character very well, from a rather grey mousey type to a rather sassy lass. Not sure Cheaney's her type though.

Kevin's panic at the end of the first episode - "she wants to go out for a drink. I can't take her to The Rovers! WHAT AM I GONNA DO?!"

Ditto Kevin. Don't think we'd even seen his kid for the best part of a year until he suddenly made an appearance last week!

Kevin has mentioned child minders and day nursery in past episodes, so presumably this is the writers' excuse. Or he's taped the kid to a chair for a few hours.

(My Sky connection has been hors de combat since Thursday afternoon - the thieving shysters reckon "we're having problems in your area". So no Corrie for me last night, and I can't even catch up on ITV2. I've got withdrawal tremors.)

Too hi-tech for me. Seriously. Wouldn't even know how to start. All I can do with my laptop is log on to a few car-themed sites I'm interested in. And send an e-mail. Haven't even got a smartphone, don't care, blah, blah.

I suppose you're referring to the possibility of watching it online, but ,like I say, how the hell do you do it? Luddites rule.

It's not the same on a laptop, even with full screen. And they weren't exactly Corrie's finest episodes. Roll on Monday.

Also, if you go on Youtube and type in Coronation Street 12th December 2014 (or whatever date you require) it usually is on there.

Thanks for the tip, Wacky.

It just wasn't the same on the small screen - my woman complained about "feeling silly in this usherette costume when it's not a real telly". I told her to shut up and pass the popcorn. No humour, some folks.

lol!

You can actually spend hours looking through You tube...(yes, sad I know...biggrin) at some archive vintage episodes.

For instance, one of the two young girls in the very first scene later found fame as the lead singer in the New Seekers.....Lyn Paul....real name Lynne Belcher.

Just a thought, but how old is Luke (Steph's brother) supposed to be? Maria seems concerned about the age difference, and I've reckoned she's supposed to be about 30/31 years old. (She joined Corrie in 2000 and was a kennel-maid after leaving school, I'm presuming at 16).

I thought Luke was Steph's younger brother, and was assuming he was about 23/24. That's definitely an age gap to have concern about. Just saying.

Dunno if it's a concern. I know a few happy couples with that age gap or more. Even when the woman is the older one

I think if I was 23/24 I wouldn't see it as an issue!
