Agree that it's a bit slow sometimes, but I've really enjoyed it thus far - looking forward to the final instalment!

Well that was pretty mediocre.

it was a pretty terrible ending to a series with so much promise.... seems to be the way all these american sci fi series seem to fizzle out.

Its somewhat of a romantic view of how a teacher and his kids would survive in a post alien invaded world. In reality they'd be dead before an alien ever touched ground. They should've called it feeling skies because the characters are so damn emotional. I haven't seen the end of it or even the current series but I suspect the finale will be enemy defeated and everybody holding hands (not a spoiler lol if its so damn predictable or hopefully I'm wrong). I'd like to see it end with defeat and the next series the characters try to make a life off-world helped by the friendly alien guy.

I wish they'd stop with these crappy shows - extant, falling skies, whispers, anything zombies, toffs playing dress up in a forest etc. Need more shows like better call saul, breaking bad, mr robot, sons of anarchy etc.

I managed to stick with it until the last season then gave up after 2 episodes some of the characters were just getting really annoying!

Other TV shows are available..............

It's funny how different shows appeal to different people. No one forces you to watch the ones you criticise and from my own personal perspective the ones you wish there were more of I think are not so good - hence having watched a couple of episodes of each I haven't bothered with any more. However, other people do enjoy them so it is not my place to denounce them.

I actually enjoyed the whole series of Falling Skies and the ending. I am also enjoying Extant and Dark Matter, and am looking forward to the new series of Conitnuum. In fact I think that the latest series of Extant is one of the best programs I have seen in ages. There is precious little SciFi on TV these days, just a sea of soaps (which I have no time for so never bother to watch and, hence, don't comment on). We should be thankful for the little that we get and just accept that different shows appeal to different people. There are no hard and fast rules as to what is good and what is bad, just opinions.

Falling Skies went downhill after season one. The 'finale' was just a kick in the bks For those who kept watching in the hope that something interesting might happen.

I've no idea of how hard they must have tried to make such an exciting concept so unbelievably tedious and dull irked but the final episode......... fk me it was possibly the worst of the lot. Humans in the ultimate final battle against the Eshveni, how do you fk that up?

I have to be honest, I was hoping the aliens would win as Mason was so irritating. Either that or Predators invaded and kicked the crap out of everyone hehe

And to know Firefly was cancelled while st like this got five fking seasons mad

One of the worst endings to a series in a very long time. They couldn't wait to get off the set at the end by the look of it. Never really rated it that much anyway but it killed a few hours I guess.

I have one more episode to watch & thank god that's the whole affair done with after that!

The potential of this series could have been the next "V" of this generation but when plot lines don't match, things seem to get forgotten or story lines bogged down & dragged out ...

First season they craft a bullet from the alien metal to be able to kill them ... never referred to again ...
Second or maybe third season new technology with energy rifles ... never seem to be used from then onwards ???

I could go on !!!

I was also disappointed with the ending of this series, a big let down. As for the above comment, yes it could have been, the re-make of 'V' from a few years ago was also rubbish. They seemed to have missed the whole point of the original 'V', that is how would we cope with a military occupation, like Europe did in WWII, that was in fact the brief the makers of 'V' were given, they just decided it would be fun if the occupying force were Alien.

I think that too many modern series are trying too hard to be clever, or seem to be clever, when all we want is action and stuff to hold our interest. I also think they're so desperate to get a 2nd, 3rd and more seasons that they through all their eggs into one basket and leave a huge cliff hanger at the end, which ulitmately turns out to be irrelevant.

I remember trying to watch it when it started, but the so-called 'teacher' got so much wrong in some of his chats to his students, it was hysterical. Decided if the writers didn't know what they were talking about then it was best not to invest further time. biggrin

I liked this but the ending was dreadful as was much of the last series and series prior.

The best thing you can say about the ending was it was better than Lost. Enjoyed the series as a whole.

The queen wasn't very well guarded

Was what my wife and I always refer to as a "Star Trek ending", meaning it was all tied up far too neatly and too quickly (always after the short ad break right near the end of a ST:TNG episode).

That said, I was impressed that they actually bought it to an end, rather than leaving it open ended and unresolved. Far too many US Serials end with the next series just 'hanging'...

Re a few comments back, 'clever' is much cheaper to film than action, that's why we see huge periods of introspection interspersed with moments of actions on TV series.
