So, there's been loads of 80's films on here recently - and we all know the 80's were generally just awesome.

However, has the internets ever decided on who is the best from the best era in the history of st films?

For me, the current best actors are;

Daniel Day-Lewis
Matthew Mcconaughey
Ralph Fiennes
Leonardo Decaprio

All IMO of course!

Richard Burton?
Brando?
Alec Guinness?
Peter O'Toole?
John Mills?

I can think of many Actors who would make a better list.

Daniel Day-Lewis - dull
Matthew Mcconaughey - dull but not as bad as DDL
Ralph Fiennes - awesome
Leonardo Decaprio - mong

I'm probably biased as I grew up watching Burton, Harris et al, but even compared to the EastEnders cast DiCaprio is a talentless mong.

No Denzel? He's done some cracking films.

Clint is in there for sure, DeCaprio also, what about DeNiro, Pacino to throw a few more into the mix?

Denzel Washington.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Anthony Hopkins
Tom Hanks
Morgan Freeman
Viggo Mortensen
Brad Pitt

Probably the favourite of my generation of films for me. I was never a fan of the 80's action star, even in the 80's - they're all homicidal maniacs.

They've both made a few great films, and a huge long list of really, really terrible ones.

jesus people! It's friday. The whole premise of the poll is awesome actors from st films in the 80's, yet you take it seriously?

Well, if you're really that serious let me correct a few of your errors:

Denzel - good actor, and has even had a gunfight with the sun behind him - but has never spat on the head of a mongrel.

Daniel day lewis - won plenty of oscars, and even starred in a film where he shot rifles with 1 hand. However, he fails on 2 key criteria - first the rifles were not automatics, and second he forgot the cunning put down after he killed the baddies..

De caprio - was a foetus in the 80's; doesn't even own overly tight jeans.

De Nero - Not nearly as funny as Michael J fox; Doesn't fight every time he gets called a chicken.

Tom Hanks - was the don in The Money Pit, The Burbs and Big. However, he loses all his points due to the terrible acting in Saving Private Ryan and Philidelphia. Seriously, I never laughed once.

Fair play to those nominating Jackie Chan and Roger Moore though - you both make good points. Moore is a very versitile actor, capable of playing anyone from a smooth playboy type to a greasy playboy type - hell, he's even the 4th best Bond. I considered adding them to the list, but I just can't overlook the Willhelm Scream - always steals the show for me.
